How to find a decently-priced studio flat in London? I have looked everywhere you can imagine: Gumtree, Findaproperty, etc etc etc and am getting super frustrated with hours of unsuccessful virtual househunting...

How do I assess the property market in Sydney? Are there any websites or magazines or whatever that I can read to give me an idea of the quality of the suburbs and the general price in different places? I've googled, but I am finding most information too specific.

Insurance Underwriting. Property. Florida. These three statements combined can cause poodles to faint, white to change to black, AC to become DC, and various flora to mutate in the Tropics. My question: If an underwriter actually agrees to bind a policy, are they legally bound to follow their own document?

Perhaps a ridiculous question: is it possible in a major city (I'm in Toronto) to buy a small piece of land and build a tiny house (like the B-52 on
this page) on it? What's involved? If possible, what are the pros and cons? Is it pointless, financially?

I have recently acquired a commercial property. I want to obtain a line of credit against the down payment I put on the property. Obviously, I have not done this in the past. But, I envision the transaction being similar to a home equity line of credit. Is there anyone out there that can point me to the right direction. FYI, the commercial property was acquired via a new LLC of which I own 100%.

UKPropertyFilter: I'm in the process of buying my first house. Can anyone offer the wisdom of their experience of employing a conveyancer? Specifically I'm interested in using a local firm of solicitors/conveyancers vs. using the cheaper on-line alternative.

My Dad sells computer games on the Internet as a hobby. He has done nothing to protect his intellectual property rights other than placing a copyright notice on an "About" screen. He thinks Nintendo might like one of his game ideas and would like to contact them about it. Should he be concerned about protecting his IP rights before contacting Nintendo or is it too late?

What are the best low cost or free web sites for researching real estate information and statistics?
I'm primarily interested in current appraisals, past sales history and property taxes for a single address, and also current and historical inventory of homes for sale (# of MLS listings) in a single town or zip code.
I'm aware of Domania.com. Any others? I had access to realquest.com for a short period of time, but they are rather expensive for individual use.

I'm interested in stories about living in apartments where something bad has happened. Apartments with gnarly histories. Murders, suicides, 'haunted' apartments, whatever. Did it affect the value? Did you learn about it only later? Did you hire an exorcist? Did a new paint job suffice? etc. Anyone have such stories, or know of such?

We went to a home show recently, and while there my sweetheart apparently filled out some sweepstakes form. As a result, we got a call today from a nearby resort offering us several apparently-nice 'free gifts' in exchange for visiting their timeshare-resort and "learning more about their property" .... my question is: I assume this is a scam of some kind, but what kind of scam is it?
