Online promotion of neighborhood website?

How and where do I do online promotion my neighborhood's historic home tour quickly and on the cheap? (In Phoenix, AZ) My neighborhood, located in Phoenix AZ, is having its biennial home tour next weekend. Our website hasn't received a lot of traffic so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how I can get the traffic up in the next week?

How can I promote the relaunch of my website?

How can I promote the relaunch of my website? I've been running a technology bargains/deal daily news site (a blog I suppose) for about 7 years now and we're just about to undergo a pretty major relaunch.

My question is: how should I promote this? My total promotional budget is in the neighborhood of $800-1000MAX, which would include any prizes I would have to buy out of pocket.

I'm considering:

1. Definitely a contest (iPod nanos?)
2. Advertising on other sites (banners?)
3. Getting the relaunch/contest linked or otherwise publicized on other tech-related blogs

Free Promo Website for Unsigned Band

Anyone know of any websites created to promote unsigned/unknown bands? Something preformatted where you can display a few pictures, a schedule of upcoming gigs, maybe a paypal link to sell your CD, etc. Hopefully with your own link (i.e. http://website.com/myband that can be printed on flyers, etc. Free is always great, very low cost is okay. I'm trying to help a local wedding/bar band that is NOT net-savvy or flush with cash.

I need new ideas and different angles to website promotion.

I need new ideas and different angles to website promotion, and since I don't have two nickles to rub together, it's gotta be free. Help me Obi-Wan-Kenobi, you're my only hope! Maybe I'm still in the dark ages. Maybe I'm still stuck inside Web 1.0 when Web 2.0 is just outside my (browser) window, but I think my methods of website promotion are pretty old world. Done the search engine/directory/meta tag thing, done the reciprocal link thing, done the lame alt.website.announce thing and I have sizable and relevant content. Is there any free, effective and ethical ways of promoting a website online? Or maybe good discussion forums to discuss innovative marketing and promtion techniques?
