Identify Japanese woodblock print of kabuki actor, possibly by Kunichika, possibly set on Tokaido Road
Need help identifying this Japanese woodblock print of a kabuki actor. I think the artist is Kunichika, and the print is set somewhere on the Tôkaidô Road. At the top of the page is a large box of Japanese text -- I'm hoping someone can read this, or otherwise identify any hints about the location, actor and character. The bakery/café I work for is looking for a good company to print our menus. We're looking to print "tall" menus. I'm sorry this is so vague, but I don't know the measurements or name of the type of menu. If I had to guess I'd say ~8" x ~4" — you know, the kind you often see in restaurants/cafés/delis, etc, often with a trifold. We're most likely doing just a double sided piece of paper, though. We're located in Brooklyn, so we'd be looking for a company somewhere here or in Manhattan.

Hi all, I am a neuroscience student and I'd like to get my mentor a print of one of Santiago Ramon y Cajal's famous drawings of a neuron as a going away gift. Unfortunately, I can't find anywhere that sells prints or photos of these drawings online, but I was able to find a book at my university's library that has larger (12" x 24") high quality images of these drawings. My question: what is the best way to go from book to print? Are there particular scan qualities or types? Particular types of paper/material to print onto? Places (FedEx, architecture firms) to go to? Any advice would be really helpful. Thanks! Brian

I have an idea in mind that would be centered around a fake passport-like document taken to specific, fun places around the world. Where would I go to get something like this made? [more inside]

We'll be moving into a rental office on a short-term (14-24 month) basis and we need to print new stationery. We only use about 125 envelopes a year (in two sizes: letter and card) and the minimum order quantity from local printers is 500 pieces. We've thought of printing envelopes with a logo and no return address and using a stamp or stickers to apply a return address, but the results have been tacky. With the move, we've ended up with hundreds of excess envelopes from previous addresses. Is there a way we can solve this with something that looks good and doesn't cost a fortune? All suggestions appreciated!

What not to do? Thanks...
