Toronto-filter: Some professors at my school are giving their textbooks to us students, free, via a printable PDF. So, I'd like to get it printed as cheaply as possible and then bound. Where's the best place to do this? Our textbook are on average ~500 pages. Proximity to Bloor and Spadina is a big plus.

Recently when I print with Firefox, it tries to squeeze everything into 1 page. The text is TINY. I have tried "Print 100%", Scale to Fit, Print regular in preferences (HP Laserjet 4200). I have tried to print with different drivers. Nothing I do save "Print 200+%" works, and that's absolutely absurd to have to do each time. Chrome prints things fine, but I really don't want to have to use a different browser each time... Anybody have an idea? Any info I seem to find on the web comes up with old FF2 and FF3 printing issues. Nothing with a more current version on the mozilla forums.

Need help identifying this
Japanese woodblock print of a kabuki actor. I think the artist is Kunichika, and the print is set somewhere on the Tôkaidô Road. At the top of the page is a
large box of Japanese text -- I'm hoping someone can read this, or otherwise identify any hints about the location, actor and character. (Two more translatable things inside)

I have an idea in mind that would be centered around a fake passport-like document taken to specific, fun places around the world. Not something fake enough to break laws, but fake enough to be something fun to carry around, not look cheap, and be durable to carry around and get stamped when requested. Where would I go to get something like this made?

How do I add print functionality to my iPhone/iPad app? Can I license this ability or do I have to create it? What is the most cost-effective way for my app to be able to print to a wireless printer or a networked printer?

I have recently purchased a Heidelberg Windmill platten press and am starting a letterpress and design company. I am a Graphic Designer by trade so I have the skill, all I am lacking is some insight into creating a solid business plan and help with suppliers etc... within Canada.
What experience do you have with getting plates made in Canada?
Do you use Polymer plates?
Ink Suppliers?
Paper Suppliers?
Getting die's made?
Any information above and beyond is much appreciated.

OS X: I want to batch print all the files in a source-code library. They are actionscript files, which means they are text files that all end in a .as extension. The files are in a complex directory structure (one root folder but files in multiple subfolders), and there are non .as files that I don't want printed. When the files print, I need some kind of separator ( spaces, asterisks, new page...) between each file.

I just started working in a small office (there are 3 of us). We have wired internet (I know, I know!), and an HP OfficeJet 5610 All-in-One Printer/Fax/Copier in a tiny closet. We all work different hours and use laptops. There is no dedicated computer that is there and always on. I know from working with a friend that we need a small printer server to plug into the printer and connect to the switch in the closet. One side needs to have a USB plug, the other side needs to accomodate the internet cable.
I think I'm talking about
option #4 in this Wikipedia article.
I need to make a recommendation to my boss for what exactly she needs to buy to make this work.
Is
something like this what I'm looking for? Is it likely to be compatible with the HP OfficeJet 5610? I need it to be!

I work on a Mac running Adobe CS3 apps. I have an Adobe Illustrator file from a client that will be going to print. The background of the piece is a linked eps (DCS2) file. I am seeing no preview of this file in Illustrator (it said that I wouldn't see a preview of a DCS in the help menu). I can open the link in Photoshop and it looks fine (CMYK + Spot separations in the channels palette). How will the printer handle this file? Is there another way to adjust the file so that it shows up without losing color information?
Thanks-
