I will be doing print layout for a photobook with text... using solely Adobe Photoshop. What technical secrets do I need to know to make sure that graphics, background AND text come out looking cohesive and snappy on the printed page?

Photoshop CS3 for the graphically impaired. I'm struggling to create a banner print file. Two-by-eight foot banner. 200-300 dpi (ppi?).

When I build a spot gradient in Indesign or Illustrator I'm not getting exactly what I want. What I want: a very dark blue (say, PMS 2756) to black - with the blue getting darker and darker toward black. What I get on screen and on proof: the blue becoming a lighter gray, then the gray darkening toward black. I assume the solution rests in using a blue > nothing gradient in a layer above a blue > black and messing with overprinting / transparency but I'm unsure how to proceed. Any advice?

What office printer would you recommend for a graphics department for printing color ads and proofs of magazine and newspaper pages? NEED Postscript level 3 compatibility , Ethernet, good type output and a nice chunk of RAM (256mb or more). We previously had phaser 8200DP, but it's slowly dying. 11x17 and duplexing would be nice, but not required.

What tool can I use to make a "poster" approximately 3' by 3' consisting of individual 8.5" by 11" pieces of paper? Something like Rasterbator, but without the raster part.

I have: A dorm room wall, about 8' x 11', and access to a high quality, 54" printer that prints to a roll. I want to cover my whole wall with one image. Help me, please. [MI]
