I just got a cheap-o HP printer that features two sided printing. It seems to print on one side, suck the paper back in, and print on the other side. Does anyone know how this works? Does it flip the paper over? My guess is that it loops it back in (back facing down), probably raises the heads, and "prints upside down" the other side.
But I'd love to see a diagram or video. Can't find one, though.

Is there a better printing app for the iPad than HP eprint or Apple Airprint? One that allows you to print directly to a printer over wifi (i.e., without having another computer running and connected to the network), offers legal size printing and photo print sizes other than 4x6? Thanks!

I have a Macbook with OS X 10.5.8 and Firefox 13.0.1. The printing scale under File -> Page Setup in Firefox has randomly started defaulting to 60%. So every time I restart Firefox, I have to go in there and change it back to 100% before I print anything. I can't figure out how to change it back. Is this a Firefox thing, or a printer thing?

How can I clear a recalcitrant cartridge jam on an HP C4580 printer? I've gone through the steps on the printer and the further support on the
HP website to no avail. I still have the error message flashing on the printer, and it will not print anything, not even the self-test report. I need a working printer, and this is driving me crazy! Any suggestions? Help?

I bought a new computer (stalkers may check out my previous 'asks') running 64 bit windows 7, and I'd like it to connect to my HP 6840 wireless printer; that is, I need an appropriate driver. HP's website says that windows 7, has the driver built in and all I have to do is connect the printer via usb cable and stand back. Well, I tried that and several other things but my Windows 7 home, even after running update, has no driver for my printer (which it correctly identifies). HP tech support is of no help, merely repeating the same advice as the web sites I've already seen. I know such a driver exists because other people have solved this problem. How can I get it?

My HP deskjet 8000's printer drivers won't allow me to print at all when 1 color of ink is out. Yes, even if I only want to print in black and white. Aside from going back and time and telling me not to buy this POS, can you help me? Are there hacked drivers?

My printer, an HP PSC 1410 All-in-One, will not turn on after leaving it unplugged for two weeks (I was out of town and always unplug everything to save on electrical costs). It's connected through a power module, and I have tried unplugging the power cord from the power module and the power module from the printer, and reconnecting them all again. I have tried different outlets, and it will simply not turn on. I have also tried disconnecting the USB cable that runs from the printer to the computer, just in case it was interfering in some way. Does anyone know how this could have happened, and what I can do to fix it?

Inkjet isn't cutting it for my home office. I give out about 200 product info sheets a month, and inkjet just gives, well, that technicolor "inkjet look", though granted I am printing on laser printer paper rather than inkjet papers. How good are these new $400 color laser printers? Should I give them a serious look, or is my money better spent on inkjet paper?

Does anyone know how to put more memory in an HP Laserjet 4700? There is an access panel on the rear right-hand side, and four screws holding in two slot covers labeled EIO, I believe.
I downloaded the service manuals but nothing in there I could use. I can pay someone to do a service call but it seems like it should be something I could do myself.

I have an old HP Printer (LaserJet4P) which works perfectly even though it's a decade old. But ever since upgrading to WinXP, it spits out a sheet of paper every time I boot up the computer. The sheet is blank except for a tiny nonsense character in the upper-left corner. I have the latest driver, but it doesn't help. The only way I can get it to stop wasting paper is to remember to keep the printer turned off when I boot up. But I usually forget. Any ideas?
