Printing from the web: How to add "Continued on next page" footer on HTML printouts? IE print templates seem like a solution, but I can't figure out how to get them to work. My app is IE 6.0 only.

Antique Print Restoration: I have 6 or 7 original c. 1860 Gould humming bird prints. These are large (14" x x21" +/-) hand-colored lithographs. In wonderful condition EXCEPT there is slight black "text transfer" visible on the print. This sometimes happens to antique prints when there was no tissue-guard to separate the print from the text on the opposite facing page.

Anyone know of any good large-format (5 foot by 3 foot poster) printers in the Portland, Oregon area? I've been burned by the wrath of Kinko's too many times and I need it within 48 hours. I know the right outfit could do it in just a few minutes, and I don't care what it costs.

I hate reading on screen, so I do lots of printing of articles I grab from the web. But for really long articles or ebooks, especially where I'd like to store a (hard) copy, I often wish there was a way to create a more or less bound copy. Publishing-On-Demand doesn't work for single run-offs (it's expensive and requires copy to be set in Quark). Adding clips to printouts isn't quite the same as binding. So...is there a service out there where I could email a PDF and have them mail me back some reasonable approximation of a book? Even if it's 8.5x11 copy paper pages just cheaply "bound"? Even better would be if I could get something like this from copy shops, Staples, or other local service outlets.

I'm looking for a printing company/service that has an API to send photos to, or other sort of commercial integration. Googling print/printer/photo API's turns up the wrong kind of printers. This is a small project but may get larger, and I can't do the printing myself but the rest I've got in hand. Anyone know of such a thing?

For many years I beat my self up because my photographs did not approach the quality that I saw in magazines. This stopped when I was assigned to repair and maintain an offset printing press. I saw the offset being a four color (five if you factor the brilliance of the paper) mechanical process while my photographs were being done in a single or three color chemical process. The printer told me that images that were to be offset rather that darkroom printed had to be slightly overexposed. When a chemically processed photograph was placed beside its' offset printed twin, they showed two very different images of an identical subject. Is a magazine photograph a true photograph or is it really something else? Can a magazine illustration accurately portray what a photograph from a negative looks like? Does this question exist with digital photography? Please discount duotone and tritone B&W printing. I have been trying to wrap my head around this for years and the question still troubles me.

What is the expected printing speed for wirelessly connected printers? I hooked up a Trendnet usb to wireless printer server with my older Canon S600 USB printer. I use wep encryption on my network. I immediately noticed that the print job for one page color document take a quite a bit of time to start on the printer. I have not played around much yet, but when i tried printing a short word document from my laptop I was getting not enough memory errors. I am pretty sure it is not a laptop problem.
When the printer was connected to the desktop PC i did not notice these problems of course.
