Locking in Heating Oil?

Hello, prognosticators and speculators! Look into your oily, viscous crystal tarball. With crude oil at $43.76 per barrel today, and an email in my inbox from MassEnergy (of which I am a member) informing me of a webinar I won't be awake for, I'm wondering: should I lock in my heating oil price while it's still warm out? If so, what's good timing? I expect to use 350 gallons of oil this year. I'm in MA, about 10 miles west of Boston Harbor.
[previously from 2008, when oil was $98/barrel ... paging mjjj, how did it go?]

Expensive cheap drugs

I was accompanying a friend who was picking up a prescription for nitroglycerin pills at a supermarket pharmacy and was surprised to see that the price was $30 for around 20 pills (he doesn't have insurance so this was retail price, not a copay). I was curious so I checked Walmart's list of $4 drugs and found nitroglycerin is not on the list. I checked a drug price comparison website and it also listed prices in the $20-30 range. Nitroglycerin has been used medically for 130 years (no patent) and seems like it can't be expensive to make, I thought for sure it would be dirt cheap like generic prozac, amoxicillin, etc. Anyone have an idea/theory why it's so expensive?

Where can I find historical residential gas prices?

How Can I Profit from Falling Oil Prices?

Oil has fallen by more than 50% since July 2014. How can I benefit from that fall, either by: 1. Gas banking - Is there a way I can buy gas at the current low rate and use it later after prices have risen? 2. Buying stock - Either a sector fund through an investment firm like Smith Barney, or buying pieces of stocks individually like through Ameritrade or Sharebuilder? 3. Or some other way? Or should I just buy the cheap gas and enjoy the reduction as long as it lasts?

What's a reasonable price range for airfare from New York to Tokyo?

I'm traveling with a friend to Tokyo next year, May 24th to June 6th. I've had Orbitz, Expedia, Kayak and Skyscanner on heavy rotation for three weeks and the best price I can find for travel time shorter than 24 hours is about $1500 round-trip. I'd rather not get scolded by our friends for paying too much, and Googling "nyc to tokyo airfare price range" is giving me the equivalent of hearing "usual and customary" from my insurance company, so I am turning to MeFites for help. Possible pertinent details below the fold. [more inside]

Comparing Amazon Prime grocery prices with supermarket prices?

I like buying things on Amazon prime, but only if they are roughly equal to or less than the cost of something that can be found in a supermarket. Is there some site that I can use to find a reasonable "supermarket price" (not the sale price) for things with brand names (like shaving cream or garbage bags) so that I can make sure I'm not paying well above the market price for something? I'd imagine prices vary by region, but I'm willing to take any suggestions. [more inside]

Alternatives to ArtNet.com?

I'm trying to track recent sale prices for several painters. The best-known tool is ArtNet, but a 24 hr pass costs $19 and only allows search for five artists. Good to time to buy for 200k in Bristol, UK?

Should I buy a house in Bristol, UK, or wait? I have a 100k deposit, and a 100k mortgage in principle. Should I buy a house or flat in Bristol UK? I am single, 32, more or less happy renting, and have no reason to buy other than a sense of cultural obligation, boredom with renting, and available cash. There is nothing tying me to Bristol, if you have any golden location tips I'm willing to travel.
