iCal disaster. All records before a certain date are gone. This is true -- and the date in question is the same in each case -- for all my daily iCal backups over the last 30 days. I urgently need to recover these records if possible. [more inside]

I bought a used macbook (osx 10.4.8). The previous owner is still set as the admin. I cannot add another account without their password. Putting in the install disks also requires a password. How can I delete the previous user and create a new account for myself?

I have a lovely Xanga skin for my blog, but weirdly it appears to be the only skin which doesn't include an option for a reader to go back and look at my previous posts, and despite my Googling, Xanga-ing and trying to work it out, all I've done is muck it up good and properly. So, can anyone suggest what code I need to enter (preferably by cutting and pasting!) into the middle of the three boxes at the bottom of my Xanga code to allow people to go forward or back as far as they like?
