Does there exist a demographic of humans currently living in the United States of America that are "on the fence" about who they will be voting for in the upcoming 2012 presidential elections? Additionally, I'd like some sort of description of these people. [more inside]

To help Obama win, do I vote for Santorum or Gingrich? I'm an anarchist/socialist living in Alabama, where crossover voting is permitted. I'm looking for sound logic and effective strategy. [more inside]

I gather from Howard Dean's announcement today that he and the Obama People don't get along. I'm curious though how much Obama's win and the Congressional turnover are due to Dean's strategies and policies as head of the DNC. [more inside]

I'm a liberal in a red state (Texas). After the 2000 and 2004 elections many people I know told me that if I didn't like the President I should move to Canada.
If Liberals go to Canada when a Republican wins, where would the conservatives go now? They wouldn't like Canada at all (no offense my Canadian friends). Conservatives wouldn't go to a country that has nationalized health care, progressive taxes or abortions. Any thoughts on what countries Conservatives would like?

(I think) I read somewhere recently that if Obama won, he'd be the first elected chief executive (President, PM, etc.) from a racial minority. Is that true? [more inside]

Does the fact that the betting markets still give Hillary Clinton a 1 in 55 chance of being President in 2008
, mean that that is a reasonable estimate of the chance that Obama is assassinated before the election? What else could justify those odds now?

Last week Obama eschewed the public financing system for the general election. It seems that many of the articles I am reading are saying
that he is the "first major party candidate to reject public financing and its attendant spending limits." Do they mean in this election, or ever? If they mean "first-ever" (since public financing started) and public financing means a candidate can't raise private funds, then why is there always so much talk of candidates hosting various fund-raising events like $x,000-a-plate dinners? Are the publicly financed campaigns having their PACs raise money or what?

I was sure I remembered that Geraldine Ferraro cried during the 1984 presidential election, and that the media made the event into a symbol of why women are too weak to hold national office, but now I can't find a headline or news article from that time that mentions her crying. Am I getting this mixed up with Pat Schroeder's famous breakdown when she dropped out?

As I understand it, though I can't find a reference for this, media outlets alternate the colours they use for political parties. Sometimes the Republicans are red and sometimes the Democrats are. But this didn't happen in the last election, apparently because the two parties (especially the Republicans) invested themselves deeply into their chosen colour.
For 2008 in the U.S. is there any indication that the media will go back to the old way, or further entrench the permanent colours? (FWIW, in Canada the colours have been pretty standardized for a long time it appears.)
