LondonCommerceFilter: Business trip to London (from US) coming up, and I've got a free initial jetlag day that I'd like to spend shopping-- preferably for cool, unique,
not-too-expensive, suitable-for-gifting items I'd be unlikely to find in the US. I'm specially interested in women's accessories (scarves, jewelry); toys and games; (travel-friendly) foods; tchotchkes; and used/antique books. Any must-visit shops?

I'm involved with a college radio station, and we'd like to get presents for or do something for the graduating folks. The problem is, none of us have any ideas. What are some awesome music or radio-themed things we could buy or arrange? What sorts of things would you have loved to get or do as a graduating senior?

What are some workplace holiday gift ideas for my two hip, cultured, smart, (and imo underpaid) mid-20s employees? They're full-time employees and I work with them very closely. I want to get them really great gifts that aren't wildly impersonal and aren't for the workplace, in the $75-100 range and
not food- or drink-related. All I can think of is spa gift cards. Surely there are better ideas, right?

What Lego-related gift should I get in the USA for a bright 5 year old Australian with Asperger spectrum issues? He likes Lego and has a particular interest in Legoland in San Diego. I want something that costs no more than $20 and I'd rather leave presents of actual Lego to his parents.

Question for the "guess culture" people: If a friend wants to leave a gift I gave her behind at my house for a year, is that likely to be her way of saying she doesn't really want it? Does that mean I can treat the gift as mine?

Best friend is moving back home to Portland after many years of living in NYC. I'd love to present her with an Oregon-shaped (and delicious) cake at her going away party. Where could I get this in the NYC area? Any borough will do.
Thanks!

I'd like to buy a gift for a good friend who is a flight instructor (small planes, one-on-one with students); he hasn't been doing it all that long, and doesn't have a huge amount of personal equipment. Anything nice/fancy that is also incredibly useful to have that his employer wouldn't provide? Also, any iPad/iPhone accessories for pilots? Say anything up to $500 (or even a bit more) or so - though unless I was completely assured he'd love the gift, I'd prefer cheaper. Thanks!

For Christmas this year I would love to give my family food-of-the-month type gifts from places like
Murrays and
Zingermans, but those places don't deliver to Canada, where most of my family members live. Can you recommend really great subscription/gift food that's either Canada-based, or delivers to Canada?

Present ideas for the chili lover. I'm trying to think of a gift basket for a burgeoning chili-chef, but I know very little about chili and have no ideas outside a nice cut of meat and it would be nice to get them something that would last a little more long-term. Chili-makers, are there any really nice spices you like in your chili or other special ingredients? A specific tool or pot you find indispensable? Any "idea" books (this person is not the type to follow strict recipes, but would likely follow something that said "try this for this effect")?
