Are Shuron Clip-On Sunglasses A Good Idea?

So it's finally come to this: I need to wear prescription sunglasses while driving. I'm wearing progressive lenses in Shuron Ronsir Zyl frames, which I love. I was thinking to save money I'd get prescription sunglass lenses for just the the driving part, (distance only), not progressive lenses; then I remembered that you can get clip-ons for the Ronsirs. My question(s) is for Shuron Ronsir wearers who have the clip-ons: [more inside]

Help me figure out how thick my eyeglass lenses will be.

I'm trying to decide between a bunch of lens options, materials and index. Of course, I'd like to get the thinnest lens I can without spending more than I have to and crossing the line of diminishing returns. Surely it's possible to know exactly how thick a lens of a given material/index with a given prescription will be. Help me find out how to determine this. [more inside]

penurious from pet prescriptions

Our cat is diabetic. It's well controlled, but we need some way to find a less expensive prescription. He's on 4.5 units of Lantus twice a day. The cost has tripled since we started giving this to him and coupled with the special food it's a painful expense. It works well. He's healthy, comfortable, and in pretty good shape for his 17 years (6 with the diabetes). I need concrete suggestions for filling his prescription at the best price possible. Can you recommend a reliable Canadian pharmacy that caters to pets? Is there some discount program we can enroll in? Any strategies would be appreciated. We're not going to stop his medication ( we haven't reached that point yet ) but I want to stop mentally calculating prescription cost * average remaining cat life span every time we get this filled.

Source for inexpensive Cialis (tadalafil)?

I'm an older man with benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH), enlarged prostate that causes frequent urination. The drug finasteride no longer helps, and I've apparently outgrown cardura and flomax and others. My urologist has suggested low-dose (5 mgs daily) Cialis, the drug usually prescribed in larger doses for ED. He gave me a month of samples and it works very well (side effects are minor and only positive). Trouble is, my insurance doesn't cover it and it's very expensive--about $300 a month. Way beyond my budget. Can you suggest any trustworthy sources, perhaps foreign ones, where I might get low-dose Cialis at a reasonable cost? A previous answer recommended alldaychemist.com and I'm looking into that, but would appreciate more options. Thanks so much!

We lost the misprescribed bottle; what other evidence is there?

The pharmacy gave my mother double the prescribed dosage of Baclofen, which possibly caused or contributed to a condition resulting in a trip to the emergency room. Should I break up with my gf while I work on resolving my addiction?

I started dating my girlfriend six months ago. Since that time, I have gradually taken more of my stimulant medication than prescribed. I have told her on multiple occasions about the overuse of my stimulant medication and that recently it had gotten worse. Earlier tonight she told me that she is starting to distance herself from me and that she needs some extra space to protect herself [from being around someone with addictive behavior]. Her brother had a drug problem and she understands how emotionally draining it can be to have an addict in her life. What is the mature thing to do in this situation? Do I wait for her to potentially break up with me? Do I ask her for a break while I work on things? Do I just want to ask for a break to save myself from the pain of her breaking up with me first? I love her and I want her to be a part of my life but I don't want her to be consumed by my addiction while I get help. Please help.

Will a Kaiser doctor write an Rx that you can take to another pharmacy?

That's pretty much the whole question. I ask because I am signing up for Covered California and am leaning toward Kaiser, as that is the health provider I will have up to Dec. 31 of this year and it would be nice to not switch everything around. But the plan I am looking at charges $19/30 day supply for generic medications, and I know that one of my meds can be bought at Target for $10/90 day supply. I know that the normal Kaiser process is to use the in-house pharmacy, but I wonder if doctors will write a prescription that you can take elsewhere. Medications form the bulk of my healthcare spending so this could potentially make a big difference to my meager budget.
