Expat English Football Players?

Where are the English football players in other European leagues? I can't seem to find good examples of prominent English footballers playing for clubs outside the UK.

There are Brazilian, Portuguese, Italian, Spanish, and French players in almost every European league, including the English Premier League.

Other than David Beckham, are there examples of English footballers playing in first-division football leagues outside of the UK?

Why are English expat footballers so rare?

Footy pubs in PDX?

I want to watch Arsenal win the Champions League final from a bar somewhere in Portland, OR. I don't necessarily want to watch it at the Horse Brass, if I can avoid it (I will if I have to, I just find the atmosphere there to be a bit...flat), but I do want to watch it at a place where it's the focus of attention, and not just a show on one of the eight TV's in the sports bar while ESPN and CNBC blare on the other seven.

Is there another good footy pub in PDX, or am I limited to the Horse Brass? Neigborhood's not really an issue - I'll go anywhere that's worth going to in Portland.

FA Premiership questions

PremiershipFilter: Does the FA Premiership have salary caps on teams? If not, is there a sense of competitive imbalance, whereby fans of like Middlesbrough feel that their team will never be able to compete with the likes of Man United? Also, does the Premiership do any kind of steroid testing? Has there ever been a roids scandal such as there is in US baseball? Lastly, what's widely considered more important- the league title, the EU cup, the Champion's League, or what? All of them on the same footing as far as fans are concerned?

Just an American very curious about what seems like one of the most intriguing sports league in the world.

Wondering About The Premiership

I'm an American who developed an interest in Premiership football last year. I don't have anyone to jaw the subject with, and have accumulated several minor questions I've lumped under one heading. 1) What's the significance of United in so many team names?
2) Can someone explain how transfer fees and loans work, as opposed to trades? I'm wondering how these things are accomplished inter-league, why there are no trades, who picks up what portion of the player's salary, if there is a deadline, etc.
3) I usually watch on Fox Soccer Net, but they never seem to have the high profile games or Champions League action. Is this because that stuff is PPV-only?
4) I enjoy BBC's Rumor Mill podcast, but would love to find something with similar attitude and content value that more specifically focused on reviewing last week's action and previewing this week's games. Anything out there fitting the bill? The Treble is too long and not Premiership-focused enough and the Premiership Podcast is, well, dull.
5) What are the prevailing English attitudes about the teams? Who is hated like the Yankees, loved like the Cubs, etc.?
