Preloading Streaming Quicktime Chapters

Help me figure out how to preload "chapters" in a streaming Quicktime file - so that the chapter headings load and are selectable immediately! Here's the link:

http://www.wholestorycoaching.com/epilogue.htm

When you click on "Introduction", you can see the spaces for 9 other chapters, however, at least on my machine, they are not selectable and the titles of them don't show up until that point in the (fairly long) timeline is loaded. I'm hoping to find a way to let people skip ahead to any of those 10 points. Any suggestions appreciated, thanks!

How does Google Video let you jump to any part of a video?

How does Google/YouTube manage to allow a user to jump to any part of a video without having it preloaded first? Is it the player they use or maybe how the video file is hosted? I've got a client with a fairly standard 4-minute demo video they want to put up on their site. They'd like to be able to let a user click on some tabs across the top to jump to various sections. I've got this all working as long as the video has already finished preloading past that point in the video.

I'm not really sure how much it will help, but here's a link to the project.

I'd love to be able to have the same ability that, say, Google video uses where you can link directly to a specific point in the video without needing to have the video preloaded up to that point.

Is there a tutorial or some other resource out there with a good explanation of how to do this?

Preloading images.

How to wait until images being preloaded by JavaScript Image objects are complete? I have X number of thumbnails and I would like to wait until they are all loaded in full before I make the page visible. Each JavaScript Image object comes with a imgObj.complete boolean which becomes true when the entire image is loaded. I cannot simply put this in a while loop and wait because JavaScript is single-threaded. The image objects also come with an onload event that is supposed to be triggered when the entire image has been loaded, however this is not the case. Often the event is triggered without the entire image being loaded. Solutions to this problem are graciously welcome. Thank you.
