What is the name of the practical joke you play on people, where you pretend to take them xyz hunting, and you get them to go wait somewhere while you "flush" the xyz out. But you actually just like...go home.

Help me win a good-natured office prank war with a co-worker. Over the past month, some co-workers and I have been involved in a little prank/joke war with another department in the office. Most of the stuff we’ve done is pretty benign (stuffing a desk drawer full of plastic snakes and spiders, switching desks, replacing their bag lunches with plastic fruit and food, switching phone cords) but we are looking to step it up a little. I’ve Googled around and most of the office pranks I’ve found either require access to the mark’s unlocked computer (we don’t have that), involve destroying or ruining something, or are just plain mean. Help me cook up some borderline cheesy, yet clever, pranks that don’t involve the aforementioned and would be appropriate for an office setting?

What was that "poo spray" novelty gag?

About 20 years ago I remember going to country fairs in England where the jokes and novelty stalls sold some stuff that I recall being called "shit spray" (but it was probably called "poo spray" or something). This spray promised that if you sprayed someone's trousers with it, it would make them instantaniously produce hilariously large turds - indeed many stalls often had huge turds in glass cases to prove the point.

What the hell was that spray and did it do anything at all? Oh, and someone please reasure me that the turd in a presentation case was fake...

April fools jokes for an office environment

As the sysadmin for a really boring law firm, I feel somehow honor bound to wreak some kind of non-CLM technical havoc at work in honor of April Fools (only on those that can handle it, of course). What have you done/had done to you that brought peals of laughter but didn't get anyone fired or indicted?
