open source powerpoint tips?

I saw a presentation given with Apple's Keynote in which the text that accompanied each slide was not shown on the overhead projector, but was visible on the laptop used by the presenter. How do I do that? And bonus points if you can tell me how to do that with open office, a pdf file, or some other non-keynote piece of software. [more inside]

flash powerpoint

I have a Flash animation (which ends in .app) that I'd like to use in Power Point (it's PP x for Mc) on a MacBook Pro. But I can't seem to find any way to do it. Has anyone had any luck with this, or know of any converters, or know some other way to link to the animation via PowerPoint but not actually as a slide?

Do I need an RF mouse?

I want to be able to click through some Powerpoint slides in a really large room when my computer is at the other end of it (about 100 ft away). There are no physical boundaries in the way (it's in direct sight). Do I need an RF mouse for this? If so, does anyone have recommendations of good ones to buy? and where? It doesn't need to be overly fancy, probably a click and maybe a RMB click would be sufficient...

Favored method for inserting a live browser window into a PowerPoint slide?

I'm looking for a way to place a browser window into a PowerPoint slide so that I can access web pages during my presentation and have them updated in real time. I've played around a bit with LiveWeb, which has behaved a bit erratically, and am hesitating before plunking down money for something like T-Dog's PowerPoint Web Browser. It doesn't need to have terribly robust browser capabilities - an address bar, forward/backward buttons and a "refresh" button should suffice. Anyway, I'd love to hear people's advice - the simpler, the better; I am a confirmed non-geek. If it matters (and I assume it does), I'm running Windows XP and PowerPoint 2003. Thanks in advance for your answers to my first-ever Ask MeFi question!

create screensavers from PowerPoint

I would like to create a screensaver using a PowerPoint presentation. I am aware that I can save the slides and then create a My Pictures slideshow-type screensaver, but this method loses the animation, which is critical. Searching on Google, there is an abundance of software that promises to convert PPT shows to screensavers, but I have never heard of any of the companies providing the software, and I am hesitant to just start downloading it willy-nilly. Can anyone recommend a method for creating screensavers from PowerPoints based on their own experience? I am especially interested in free methods. If it matters, I am using Windows XP and PowerPoint 2007.
