New mom to an 11 week old (who was 6 weeks premature). Postpartum depression still spiraling downward. I spent the last 5 weeks convinced the PPD was caused by a lack of support and put a lot of energy into setting up that support network, but it hasn't helped. How long did it take, and what did it take, before you started recovering from your postpartum depression?

A friend and I are putting together the curriculum for a "After the birth: the first six weeks with your newborn" class we're going to start teaching in a few months. We've got a bunch of ideas, but we want to make sure we're covering everything. We'd love your input.

I gave birth via emergency c-section over the weekend. The baby and I are both fine, but I wouldn't be querying the hivemind if I didn't have a too-long and too-detailed question about what happened.

How do I help a friend who may or may not have post-natal depression, but is definitely having a rough time due to babies not being well or sleeping? I am not able to pop in for visits to help with babysitting, housework, etc but there must be something else I can do to help, surely?

HEY MOMS--Did you have, or are you suffering from, postpartum joint pain? Find anything helpful to relieve it? I thought I was either a wimp (very likely) or a whiner (not so much, really, I swear!) or that this was all psychosomatic (thanks a lot, brain) Help a girl out here...no one mentioned all this pain was coming.

What kind of specialist should my daughter consult? She has post-partum hpertension.
Following a c-section at 37 weeks because of pre-eclampsia (welcome to our first beautiful grandchild!) her blood pressure has been quite volatile, from 140/89 to 179/98. Her normal is 120ish over 90ish. She has been rehospitalized twice in the nine days since her delivery. Put on a magnesium sulfate drip and is on Labetalol (now 300mg 2x a day).
Additionally, she has had a few episodes of supraventricular tachycardia that took her to a cardiologist a few years ago.
