Do you know of any children's books featuring mail? As in, a penpal or mailing letters. Specifically for an eight year old girl but I'm open to all suggestions! [more inside]
Hi all, this is a far fetched question, but I'm hoping that someone here has an idea of what I can do. I shipped some fish out to Spokane, WA from New Berlin, WI Thursday afternoon, using express mail. The package did not arrive. I've contacted the 1800 number and opened a "research" case on it, but haven't heard anything. Today's latest news was nothing new. I'm hoping to try and chase the package down myself, as I or the receiver are willing to drive where ever it is stuck and get it ourselves. [more inside]
I want to change the world. Or at least make it easier/faster/cheaper to send my niece and nephew, currently living less than 500 miles from where I live, a flipping Christmas package. Who should I bother to help get this done? [more inside]
This morning I collected mail from my PO Box, and was told there was another item with postage due. I paid the $1.50 and then was given three copies of form 3547, 'address forwarding service' for mail I never sent. How can I get this refunded and stop whoever sent it 'in my name'? [more inside]

Here we go again: This is now multiple times that the wonderful USPS has, given a package sent to me through their service, made the tracking unavailable until after the date they supposedly delivered and then claimed that it's been delivered when I've had no sign of it. Where do I actually find out what the handling policies of the USPS are supposed to be, and who can I complain to that's higher than my local branch? [more inside]

I'm about to send out about 100 envelopes (6 inches high by 9 inches wide) that I don't want bent. I'm going to have "Do Not Bend" labels printed, and plan to request that the envelopes be hand-stamped at the (U.S.) post office (and/or ask whether I can hand-stamp them myself at that location). The question: Where is the best place on this size of envelope to put a "Do Not Bend" label?

My coworker received 2 money orders via USPS priority mail today. They were in 2 different amounts, both addressed to him. The address and name on the FROM section of the money order were from a different name and state than the return address on the mail. He did not recognize either name or address. What is going on? How does the Post Office confirm that media mail is actually media mail? I'm shipping four boxes of books from Los Angeles to Arlington. Each box contains a hodgepodge of hardback and paperback books. To keep everything from getting jumbled up, I've included either a bunched-up towel or canvas bags as filler material. Will the Post Office hold or return my boxes if they find out? Has this ever happened to you or someone you know?

Have you ever tried to send a piece of mail at the post office certified or signed? Yesterday I tried and the lady went into all this strange ins and outs to justify why I should pay $5 for priority mail envelop instead of the $2.50 (or so) I could pay to just track it (if I skipped the mailed receipt option). This included telling me I'd have to pay for the envelope (which is fine), but insinuating it would be expensive and deflecting how much an envelope would actually be (finally admitting it's only 10 cents). A postage meter was moved from a branch office in California to an office in Vermont. The machine has yet to be updated. Specifically, it still prints "sent from 90210" instead of "sent from 05602." Will the post office in Vermont return the metered mail because of this zip code discrepancy?
Ok, burning my question for the week with something really stupid yet I don't have the time to sit on the phone on hold or make the trip, so here goes: in the US, will the post office buy back your stamps at face value (and with no questions asked)?
US Postal Service collection times: those blue boxes at the post office or street corners often list 2 or 3 different collection times. Does my mail really get to its destination faster by my getting it in the box by 12pm as opposed to 5pm?
