I got a poster from the comic con in Lexington but it has a couple of small cracks/wrinkles on it and stuff like that bothers me so i'd like to fix it. Is there anyway i could iron them out or do some sort of home remedy without having to find someone to fix them?

I want to put framed print versions of various playing cards on my walls - a few from the 1960's era Mille Bornes game, some from a deck of WWII aircraft identification cards. How best to achieve this? I obviously don't want to lose much detail in the creation process. Are there particular scanners, printers, and paper best suited to the task? Perhaps something a professional photographer would use?
Thanks to this AskMe, I have a 19x26" poster that I'd like to frame at a reasonable price. [more inside]
I'm presenting a poster at a scientific conference. I'm an old hat at this, but am tiring of the boilerplate designs that we all use. Can you point me to more minimalistic, aesthetically pleasing scientific posters? [more inside]
Blue/white-tac issues. How do I keep my shiz on the walls instead of on the floor? My posters/notices keep falling off my walls. None are particularly heavy paper or strange glossy finishes. Surfaces I want the paper posters to adhere to are either wooden doors or normal painted walls. 75% stay up for months without issue - others fall down on a weekly basis. [more inside]
We have a big, blank wall over the toilet in one of our bathrooms that several of us naturally spend, over the course of the week, a good number of minutes staring at. I'd like to find a graphically interesting, information-dense poster on some aspect of natural history, cosmology, geology, botany, etc. that I can put up there so that we can put this time to better use. I'd like to use some images from vintage communist Polish posters and am curious about copyright laws. Any advice about what's protected and what isn't? [more inside]
I'm interested in offering my illustration services up for bands' gig posters, and hopefully get to a place where I could get some repeat work in that milieu. It'd be great to make some money from it, but I don't expect it to be overly lucrative. Still, it'd be gratifying to me if I could do work for some of my favourite indie bands. The trouble is that I don't know who handles the production of posters, be it the band, their label or the clubs they play in. Does anyone have any insight into the process by which gig posters are created? I've done freelance illustration in the past, but there seem to be specific rules to this niche. [more inside]
As an illustrator, I usually draw on thick watercolor paper using ink pens (rotrings) and then paint over my drawing in watercolor. I want to illustrate and sell my artwork as posters, but how can I refine my process both artistically and commercially? [more inside]
I'm looking for recommendations for a Canadian company that will handle orders for mugs, posters, stickers and other ephemera that I would design (with the logo to my podcast) but they would handle all manufacturing, printing, orders, shipping, credit card info, that sort of thing. And I would get a tiny percentage of the final sale. [more inside]
I want to buy four or five interesting posters to fill up my blank walls in my new place and make it feel like 'mine'. I'd prefer to pick them out in person, rather than buying online. I'm especially interested in 20th century art (particularly abstract or semi-abstract), nature or urban photography, vintage maps and prints, and almost anything art deco or art nouveau. I'm also open to serendipitous discoveries that don't fit any of the above. Is there a place in New York that stocks a wide breadth of such things? [more inside]
How do I cut a keyhole slot in this mounted poster in order to hang it flush with my wall? [more inside]
My best friend in the entire world got me this adorable Harry Potter poster. I want to frame it. [more inside]
I have spent several hundred hours over the last six months creating A2 charts (420X594mm). They are about 50 in total, covering topics taught in Maths in Primary School. They are displayed in the Maths room in my school and I'm proud of the fact that the children constantly refer to them during lessons. I have been told by colleagues and visitors that they are very appealing. Unlike the laminated, commercial posters on the market which are rather tacky, these hand-made posters capture the essence of upper primary topics in very digestible chunks. I would love these posters to have a wider audience. How do I do this? (more inside) [more inside]
I'm looking for a construction paper thats like back velvet. I feel like I've seen this out in the world before but Im not having any luck with the googles. I am attempting to do a screen printed concert poster in the style of a 70s dayglo black velvet poster, so I need a paper with that look and feel, if it exists.
On a bit of a deadline, need to find some posters for the avengers, deadmau5(e) and a couple of other current hits. My google-fu has failed and hope the hive has a bit of insight to somewhere that specializes in posters in Manhattan? [more inside]
I need to design a poster for my research project, and the majority of the content will likely be in the form of simple charts / diagrams / conceptual maps. I'm looking for examples of well-design posters that have multiple charts (ideally 2x2s). [more inside]
My boyfriend collects posters from the many concerts he attends. He is averse to using store-bought poster frames because he thinks this will ruin the poster. Is this true? If so, is there a cheaper method to protect the posters than custom mounting and framing for over $100 apiece? [more inside]

I love these older pics of victory garden posters (e.g.). I was wondering if anyone knew if they were out in the public domain? I'd like to use them for a Tumblr/blog post, but don't want to start ripping folks off willy nilly.
One of my developers just had got an "office makeover" (mostly a much needed paint job), and now has about a half dozen Ikea RIBBA frames on the walls. Unfortunately, he hasn't figured out what to put in them. Fortunately, we're all here to help him out. [more inside]
This National Library Week poster has made the rounds a few times on places like Tumblr and Ffffound — does anyone know where I could find a copy for sale?
I'm a huge fan of science fiction book cover art (especially the 50s through the 80s) and I like to use ideas from them to make posters for my band. If you need examples: this should explain what I'm looking for. I'm wondering if there are existing resources for science fiction cover art or general science fiction art that mirrors this sort of style and substance? I especially need resources that are fair use, free to modify etc. etc. We use these posters to advertise our shows at places which usually have a cover charge -- so I will need content that I can modify to use "commercially". An elderly family friend has an original poster (known as BG074) and program from the 1967 Jefferson Airplane and Grateful Dead concert at the O'Keefe Centre in Toronto. He is interested in selling the poster and program, and I've offered to help out. According to Wolfgang's Vault, "BG074 is among the rarest of posters. There are hard to verify stories that the original cache of posters was confiscated at the Canadian border by border patrol, but whether the posters were seized or simply put away by contented Canadians, this summer concert made a big impression." Accordingly, I've seen auctions and online memorabilia stores listing this poster in the $5,000 and up range, and the program for close to $1,000. What is the best way to authenticate and sell these items? I contacted Wolfgang's Vault but they don't normally purchase individual items, and the art dealers I've been in touch with don't deal with rock memorabilia. Is there a Sotheby's of rock? Is eBay even worth considering?

I want to decorate a rec room in my basement with prints and other items that have been featured in movies and TV shows. I love Celestino Piatti's picture books and art. I'd love to own an original of one of his many posters. Prices on E-Bay tend to be pretty high, but I keep running across a site that claims to have many of Piatti's posters for a reasonable price. I've been tempted many times. But the site is German, and looks too good to be true. Does anyone have any experience with this site or opinion as to its legitimacy? http://www.poster-gallery.com (I promise this is not Pepsi-Blue!). Link to the Piatti posters here. My instinct is "no."
