I really like microwave popcorn. I make it by hand too, and sometimes via this
paper bag method, but I sort of really like factory processed microwave popcorn.
Especially kettlecorn! I love fresh fairground kettlecorn, but I also really like microwave "kettlecorn," which is a different beast altogether.
...and I'd like your recommendations!

Cooking popcorn with vegetable oil is discoloring my stainless steel pan. It leaves a dark yellowish stain both inside and outside around the rim. Is this a reaction with the metal? Is there a way to avoid this happening? And most importantly, is there a way to remove this discoloration? Scrubbing does nothing.

I like savoury popcorn. I don't like only putting salt on it. I also don't live near somewhere that sells the balsamic vinegar-flavoured stuff they have near work. Is there a way of buying flavour powders online? Or are there easy home recipes for nice savoury popcorn? I live in the UK so it'd have to be available or ship to here.

I want to perk up my popcorn. What toppings that are probably sitting around the house, or are easily found at a typical grocery store, do you all find the yummiest? Wet, dry, shake, stir, good-for-you, bad-for-you (real butter!!), I don't care, just suggest anything that tastes good and is readily available.

A month ago we purchased decorative mini corn cobs that looked a lot like the "mini indian corn" on
this page. Attached to the cobs were instructions (now misplaced) that gave instructions to soak and then pop the corn. The decorative phase for the corn is waning, and we're ready to pop it. How?

Popcorn balls ought to be the perfect seasonal treat, but they are always woefully inedible. I have this perfect popcorn ball in my mind. Can you help me figure out how to make it?

Mystery TV show segment - in the early 90's (I think) there was an American cable television show which had a cutaway gag about the history of movie theater popcorn. The joke was that before popcorn was invented, concession stands sold deviled eggs. Help me find it!

Where can I buy Cheddar and/or White Cheddar cheese popcorn just like the Boy Scouts sell? It was GREAT and now it's too late to buy more from them. It is also rather expensive.
I realize I'm probably going to have to buy mail-order. The ready-made stuff I've tried from the supermarket doesn't have the same taste and it always seems like it is half-stale.

We had some coconut oil in containers in our freezer (we use the oil for popping popcorn - we buy it in bulk and then freeze it for later) and for some reason this latest batch has all turned green.

Anybody remember where (the URL) to find the funny sign you can put near the workplace microwave about BURNING THE FREAKING MICROWAVE POPCORN? (At the risk of ending up on
Passive-Aggressive Notes, I could use one right now.)

How do you make popcorn? Specifically old fashioned, non microwave stove top popcorn. I really want great salty buttered popcorn that doesn't come from a bag.

Whenever real butter is used for a topping on my popcorn it seems to work well, coats the popcorn, does not make it soggy. When I use margarine it seems to "melt" the popcorn, making it soggy.

I bought some microwave popcorn that pops fine at work (a newer microwave with a popcorn button), but at home, with popcorn from the same box, I end up with a shriveled bag. The microwave at home isn't so new as to have a popcorn button, but it's not totally ancient either. I'm guessing there's some trick to it that involves NOT following the instructions provided on the bag, but I have no idea what they might be. Any ideas?
