Some friends who supported Romney are so displeased with the election results that they are now threatening to move to Canada or Australia for the next four years. Okay. Would their experiences living as American citizens in those countries in reality align more closely with their conservative ideals? How 'bout if they became citizens? What's the best response to these people?

I'm a big fan of The Huffington Post. However, I'm Canadian, and am looking for something that features Canadian politics. Is there a site similar to Huffington Post that focusses on Canadian content?

In America, you have to be born there to be President. Is there a similar law in Canada? Do you have to be Canadian-born to ever be Prime Minister, or just a citizen?

When it comes time for the ramp-up to the 2008 Presidential elections in the U.S.A., what can a Canadian do to promote his/her viewpoint other than babble on the internet? Are there any laws prohibiting foreigners from being involved in the election promotions or process?

I enjoy the often-derided NewsFilter type posts, epecially the comments and links provided in follow-up. These days, Canadian politics has become interesting, but I haven't found a spot on the web where ideas, information and links of MeFi caliber are posted on this subject.
Are there any Canadian politics oriented blogs or forums that are worthy?

CanadaFilter. Please help educate this Canadaphile from south of the border. Martin, Chretien, Mulroney, and Trudeau all rose to political prominence from ridings in Quebec. What accounts for the lack of geographic diversity among recent occupants of Canada's top post? And why Quebec? I would think that the prominence of the sovereignist BQ and the relative cultural isolation of Montreal from the Anglophone cities would make it unlikely that mainstream Liberal and Tory politicians would thrive.

It's election day here in Canada, and I have still not made my mind up on who I am going to vote for. I am in Southern Alberta, so it is pretty much decided who is going to win here (last poll had the local Conservatives at 60%), Am I throwing my vote away by voting NDP? Or should I vote "strategically" with the second place party (the Liberal party, which I am not a huge fan of - mainly because of Paul Martin), as an "anyone but conservative" vote?
