I've noticed, in the last few months, a new disclaimer added to the old disclaimer at end of commercials for the lottery. The old disclaimer says for entertainment purposes only. The new disclaimer says something like the lottery is not to be used for investment purposes. That made me wonder if people ever hire professional gamblers to play and win on their behalf. Does that happen, and if it does, how would it work?

Where can one play good online poker with real players (or a program w/*really* good AI with weaknesses and styles)? Not for cash - just for practice. Ipad app or website fine. *Not* just Texas Hold'em/7 card stud, but finishing off the HORSE class and beyond (Hi/Lo Omaha, Hi/Lo 7 card stud, Razz). Don't want scummy spyware or to have to give credit card info. [more inside]

Hooookay. So I've been asked to play in a charity poker tournament. I'm fierce at craps and was a pool shark in my past life so it appeals to me, but I've just never had a weekly poker game or anything... truth is I haven't played poker in years. [more inside]
10 years late to the party filter. I want to play online poker for money (not that much to start out with). I'm confused, though, by what's legal and by which online sites actually offer the ability to gamble. I am in the United States. What's a good site that will allow me to play very small bets as I get started with online poker? [more inside]

I've begun playing some casual Texas Hold'Em with friends (some of whom are far less casual). I don't really know what I'm doing. Thus far I am 15% ahead (of my cumulative buyin), but that's only be because I fold early and often. I mostly get into trouble when I play weak hands or try to bluff, so I don't tend to do either. I'd like some additional pointers. [more inside]
I've got a relative with a gambling problem. How can I fix it so PartyPoker (and its evil twins) will never be able to be played on this computer ever again?
Thinking of Rounders, how does one go about finding underground poker clubs (assuming they exist)? [more inside]
Second question of the day (visio one just below was first) hope I am not pushing my luck. Have been roped into a poker game tonight. 6 players, 4 strangers, texas holdem, never played for money with more than one person, have no poker face and no basic strategy. Could anyone point me to a page or give me a golden rule or advice or something that I can use to get me through. I will learn the rules myself. Something I can get into my head in about an hour.
