Family card game for mixed skills and size?

Recommendations for a card game with strategy, lots of luck (my poker-playing kid stopped playing chess with any of us years ago) and for 2 to 5 teen/adult players to play in an hour or less. I really want one that uses decks of plain cards as we end up losing bits of game pieces after a few months. We'd be willing to put in time learning the rules but Bridge is too rigid, Uno way too simple. Meaningless points betting is fine. What's worked for your family?

Is the data for WSOP Main Event Final Table available for download.

I am looking for the full dataset on the recent World Series of Poker main event final table. Ideally this would include folded hands, stack sizes, pot sizes, bets, flops etc. Failing this I'd be happy with a comprehensive data set of any final table of a high ranking professional real world (not online) poker tournament. Holdem is a given (not interested in other poker formats thanks). Any data format is good I'd prefer not to have to scrap the data from the source. Many thanks.

Maximum number of outs on the river in holdem.

What is the maximum number of outs possible on the river in heads up Texas hold em? Assuming that out means a card which will take the player who is behind either level or ahead.

Help me get my game on! Or at least fake it. :)

Hooookay. So I've been asked to play in a charity poker tournament. I'm fierce at craps and was a pool shark in my past life so it appeals to me, but I've just never had a weekly poker game or anything... truth is I haven't played poker in years. [more inside]

Looking for an Online Generic Card Game Simulator.

I need an "Online Generic Card Game Simulator" program (my term). I don't think what I want exists, but I don't know how to verify this, or more importantly, how to go about making one for myself. [more inside]

Online Poker

[BoredAtWorkthoughselfemployedFilter] Ok, this poker thing: everybody's doing it, so why ain't I? I'd like to learn how to play a little poker, online, for free, no cash (otherwise we'll have an AddictionFilter question soon), newbie-friendly environment.
