I'm a US transplant to Germany. I listen to a lot of lefty podcasts from the US: Democracy Now!, The Young Turks, Majority Report, Best of the Left, Citizen Radio, etc. My German is getting pretty good after two years, and I'd like to listen to similar issues discussed auf Deutsch. Suggestions? Vielen Dank!
I listen to podcasts while driving and while cleaning. I currently have 3 on rotation: Welcome to Night Vale, Spilled Milk, and the Metafilter podcast. The latter two I like because I like listening to 2-3 people who get along well chatting conversationally about things I might be interested in, joking, etc. Night Vale I like because it's short enough to listen to in one go and it's a fun set of stories set in a consistent world that I enjoy. Please recommend me some more podcasts I can get on iTunes. Not interested in celebrity gossip, history, dry science, or story podcasts longer than 30 minutes per episode. Especially interested in cooking, parenting, self-improvement, and shows with big archives.
I enjoy the Rationally Speaking podcast. Are there any similar podcasts, not necessarily featuring "special guests," which feature discussions on philosophy, science, and ethics?
The 5x5 Home Work podcast about working from home looks interesting, but there are 95 episodes. Anyone listen to this and have some favorites I can start with?
Sometimes I have trouble falling asleep because I can't stop worrying over issues of the day. I've found that listening to a slightly boring podcast really helps in those situations. So far, I've been listening to history podcasts but I think the technique would work with other subject areas and I'd like to find more such podcasts. I'm looking for intelligent and serious podcasts (little to no humorous banter) on important and/or academic topics. Ideally, the presenters would have monotonous voices and would spend a bit too much time on the dull minutiae, but the subject matter would be sufficiently interesting to help me stop thinking about other issues. I don't want to hear a group of friends or colleagues bantering. I don't want to hear comics interviewing each other. Pseudo-science or woo won't help because I may respond emotionally.
Looking for podcasts that could best be described as "really smart people shooting the breeze." Favorite examples would the various Slate podcasts that feature three writers discussing a range of topics, as well as NPR's Pop Culture Happy Hour. The subject matter can be about anything, though looking for something a bit more conversational and wide-ranging than, say, a panel of experts discussing their fields. Any suggestions?
I've been looking for a good weekly news-in-review podcast, but I can't find one. Surely one must exist - right? [more inside]
I'd like to expand my podcast listening horizons a bit--as in geographically and culturally. Are there any podcasts that regularly go globetrotting for their non-news stories? Makes regular attempts to be less WEIRD? Radio Netherlands Worldwide for example had the environmentally themed Earth Beat and a TALish The State We're In. They were both amazing, but canceled due to budget cuts. I'm also on a crime and mysteries kick, so something like Interpol's greatest hits podcast (they don't AFAIK) would be awesome.
iTunes now streams podcasts from the cloud, and as far as I can tell no longer provides the capacity to download the mp3 podcast files onto my iMac. [more inside]

Actually, I'm kind of not loving anything in iOS 7. Perhaps it is the shock of the new. Or just realy ugly design. Anyway, that is not my problem. My specific issue is that iTunes is now apparently arranging my podcast feed at random, rather than alphabetically or any other sensible system. Looking at online forums, there doesn't seem to be a way to fix this. Is there? Or, failing that, is there another podcast app that would work better for me?
I'm not-so-shamelessly enamored with true-crime specials like Dateline and 20/20. What can I listen to that has the same flavor? [more inside]

Better podcast handler/podcatcher wanted. My current setup is iPhone 4S 32GB / Windows 7 / iTunes - I have been using iTunes since my first iPhone and I'm ready to switch. I am an avid podcast listener and this is where iTunes and I have come to a parting of the ways. [more inside]
I listen to podcasts at 2X speed. I'd like to listen to the This American Life archive the same way, but the online player doesn't seem to support it. Is there any way to force the Flash player to do this, or am I stuck at regular speed?
Why nothing like iPhone Podcaster on Android? Beyond Pod, Doggcatcher, Podkicker Pro, and Pocket Caster fill me with blinding rage. [more inside]
I'd like to listen to more music while running. I'm getting a little tired of my comedy podcasts (we must be approaching peak banter). Can you recommend a music podcast that would be good for running? Alternatively, what inputs would give me a Pandora station that would be good for running? I don't want to listen to mainstream country music, but like many other genres. I'd like upbeat music with lyrics.
A friend has a radio documentary about climate change that she has made into a series of podcasts that people can access via iTunes, Soundcloud, or direct download of the mp3. She's discovering that podcatching for iPhones via iTunes is simple, but she has some questions about how best to make the podcasts available for Android users. [more inside]
Looking for new podcasts with Canadian content. [more inside]
I need to go on a SEVERE media diet, but I crave media that is intellectually stimulating. On TV, I limit myself to culinary and travel shows, a form of "Mind Sorbet," if you will. I also like to think. I want podcasts, downloadable lectures, and websites that promote a positive, and even spiritual (but not religious!) outlook for today and the future. I want resources that are not selling me anything, per se. I'm OK paying for legitimate content! People have to make a living - I get that! I just want to avoid copious "up sell" sales techniques. Can you suggest anything online I might enjoy? [more inside]
I just got a new ipod(classic) today, all the music synced fine and most of my podcasts too. However, i have 18 that won't sync and it keeps saying it can't find them even though they're all right there on itunes as i just downloaded them. I made sure everything was up to date, and even restarted itunes but still nothing. If it matters i'm using a mac(2007/08?), with itunes 11.0.3, snow leopard. Is there anyway i can get them to sync?
I love listening to podcasts. I like to think of my ipod as a pocket radio. I just recently discovered a Food Activist/ author Bryant Terry, and his interviews are amazing. But, when i did a search on Itunes, I found barely anything thing there, so I spent a lot of time combing google. I know that there has got to be some site where I can go to find podcasts. Also, there are great things on youtube, I wonder if I could get/rip? those videos to play on my nano somehow when I do not have wifi access. Also can you suggest podcasts for me? [more inside]

Spontaneous weekend road trip tomorrow, 9 hour drive in each direction (that's the distance to the closest city from our remote location). If I had more time I would comb through various podcasts to pick out ones I think I'd like, but this time I could use your help. [more inside]
Earlier this week I was updating my podcasts and especially looking forward to catching up on a few months of Mudd Up! with DJ /Rupture. Alas, turns out the show stopped airing back in February. Anybody know any music podcasts in a similar vein? [more inside]

I need a new podcast. Something like Jillian Michaels or Adam Carolla would be good... [more inside]
I'm learning French, and am looking to increase my exposure to spoken French. Among other things, I've been listening to the Coffee Break French series of podcasts, which has been very helpful, but I'd like to add in some podcasts that aren't specifically about learning French -- podcasts that are by native French speakers and made for a French-speaking audience, but which ideally are fairly accessible or at least roughly comprehensible with some effort to someone who has only a patchy knowledge of the language. French news podcasts might be valuable to me, for instance. Bonus features: podcasts that are also broadcast in English, podcasts that are about scientific topics, and podcasts that are about or are produced in francophone Africa. Recommendations?

I've recently started listening to Scriptnotes, a great podcast by John August and Craig Mazin about screenwriting. Is there a similar podcast about novel/short story writing, or indeed writing in general? Podcasts I already subscribe to and key things I like about Scriptnotes inside. [more inside]
This ranks up there with "non-anonymous embarrassing questions." If you wanted to feel hipper than someone today, here's your big chance. The last time I really listened to newly-produced rock music of any kind was somewhere between Casey Kasem and Nine Inch Nails. I don't even own a radio right now. I have an iTunes account....I use for free podcasts. [more inside]
What are some good podcasts in Portuguese? I'm not looking for lessons of Portuguese, just interesting, listenable content about any topic. [more inside]
I listen to a lot of podcasts and my iPod Touch was great for that, but I've recently switched to the Samsung Galaxy S3 and I find their podcasting features extremely inadequate. Some of my problems include how it won't save the spot where I left off if I switch to a different podcast, there's no button that immediately rewinds or fast forwards 15 seconds, but the worst thing is that the two podcatching apps I've tried so far (KiesCast and MyPOD) don't allow me to subscribe to some of the obscure podcasts that are available in iTunes. Does anyone have any experience with a good podcatching app for the Galaxy S3?

Does the podcast equivalent of bella sugar or the beauty section of xo jane exist? I'm looking for lighthearted, fun, podcasts about beauty, makeup, hair, nail polish, etc. Especially for ones with a focus on cheaper budget/diy/drugstore/natural& organic beauty things. I don't mind hearing about some expensive stuff, but if the entire pocast is just shilling really expensive brand name stuff I'm not interested.
