I produce a podcast with guests chatting comedically in two locations. Skype and Google Hangouts mute one side's mic while the other side is talking, which really messes with people trying to interject jokes. Are there any (relatively simple) VOIP solutions that allow crosstalk and interruptions? (Audio consistency is much more important than audio quality, and we'd like to still have video.)
I run a podcast network, and we're revamping our merchandise. We have no designers on staff, but we have lots of designers in our audiences who love our shows and have great ideas, and we'd like to tap their expertise. I'd like to ask for design idea submissions from designer-listeners on-air without asking for spec work (or seeming to). How, specifically, do we make that call to action - what language should we use? (The work, incidentally, is paid.)
Rename my public radio show! (Details inside.) [more inside]
I'm working on a new podcast with a co-host who's 3000 miles away. The podcast requires us to take telephone (or Skype) calls. What hardware & software setup will allow us to record mic-quality audio of my co-host and myself, along with telephone/Skype-quality audio of our guests? [more inside]
Is there software to automatically manage podcasts on my Rio Carbon Pearl? I'm looking for something that will function like iTunes for an iPod or Zune for a Zune -- keep only unplayed shows on my player, download new shows when I run the software, etc. Are there any iTunes alternatives which will handle this on my Rio Carbon? I'm running XP.
