Looking for a streaming radio station, or podcast that has upbeat music, funny samples and dj's, so I can laugh first thing in the morning during my morning routine.
But here's the rub, I'm not looking for comedy shows, or vapid commentary. Something a little more tasteful and subtle than your run of the mill morning crap that pollutes the airwaves and makes me depressed about humanity.

How much should an unknown band charge an acquaintance to use one of their songs in a podcast? Podcast is highly targeted and may initially be heard by 80-100 people.

I'm planning to start a new podcast focused on mathematics. The problem is that I'm having trouble coming up with a name for it. My goal is to introduce interesting topics and how they relate to everyday life. It'll be directed at making mathematics more accessible to the layman.
So, anyone have ideas for a name?

How can I move my favorite podcast (which I download manually, because the iTunes feed is a week behind) from the Music Library to the Podcast Library, if for no other reason than it's easier to get to it once I transfer to my iPod? [more inside]

I'm looking for good sources of creative-commons licensed, edgy rock instrumental music. A really good example of this is www.saviumsaliva.com. The music there just seems to work for the podcast that I'm working on.
I've tried Jamendo, and one other "search engine" for creative commons licensed music, but slow going. I keep hoping for the motherlode.. So far, not so much.
Anyone have any other suggestions for places to look?

I'd like a Flash video player of my video podcast on the web site, and a high-quality (960x540 should work) video file in the podcast feed.
I'm currently using WordPress
to manage the feed and video. But I can see why some people who don't want to install QuickTime might not be able to see the show. [more inside]

What podcasts will make me more intelligent just by listening to them? I enjoy the BBC's "In Our Time", which features serious discussion of historical events and people by academics working in the field, and also quirky, thought-provoking programs like WNYC's "Radio Lab" and "This American Life". I'm not so keen on some of the podcasts I typically get from newspapers that gloss over the surface of a subject with little analysis. What other highbrow podcasts are made by people who really know their shit?
