My apologies in advance for furthering the stereotype. I'm a girl, I like video games, but I lean towards puzzles games & sims... & my skills suck. My boyfriend is a video game collector & fairly avid player, as it is, his interest in types of games & his skill level are a fair bit different than my own. We recently got a PS3 & I'd like to expand the library by adding a few new games for myself (I'm looking for older stuff preferably: PS2 or even PS1 games). Will a Playstation 3 bought in Singapore work in Brazil? By "work" I mean play the games in color and not black-and-white. Devices bought in the USA work because TVs in Brazil are all PAL-M/NTSC compatible, but not sure about Singapore's color system.

When I had a Playstation, I could just turn it on and it would appear on the TV. I now have an XBox hooked up to the same TV through the same scart connection, but have to cycle through all of the inputs on my TV to get the XBox screen to appear. My PS2 is not working as a DVD player. Never has. I get audio, but the image alternates from a few seconds of program to a few seconds of brilliant blue screen. Games work perfectly. FWIW, the PS2 is hooked up to a VHS machine (my TV is elderly) which then feeds into the Co-ax on my TV. VHS works perfectly also.

How do I make backups of playstation (psx) games I own with OS X? I was given a "chipped" playstation, and I've been buying cheap originals at the local Rhino games. Is there a difference between US and European playstation games? I want to get games for my nephew and brother-in-law who live in Moscow but my sister says that games bought here (the US) will not play there. There's a kiosk at my local mall selling Virtual Stations, which appear to be bootleg video game systems. They have hundreds of games inside, all appear to be Atari or Nintendo games. This can't be legal, although the people at the kiosk claim they are. The Nintendo logo is gone from the games, but its clearly Nintendo property (ie Donkey Kong). The controllers are molded n64 and Playstation controllers. it just screams BOOTLEG.

They are selling them for an outrageous price, and I hate to see people taken for a ride. How can I get them shut down? Who do I call? Local Police? The Mall? The FTC?

How can one repair a fairly severe scratch on a Playstation One game? The scratch runs roughly parallel to the edge of the disc, and the PS1 recognizes the disc, and we get as far as loading a saved game, at which point it hangs and won't run the game.
