Don't know why they didn't offer a plain-text list

Is there a way to quickly check if a certain song (or artist) is on Pitchfork's list of the top 500 tracks of the decade? I've been Googling to try to see if anyone has posted a plain-text version of the whole list on one page, but I haven't found it. For instance, let's say I'm wondering if there are any Norah Jones songs on the list. I could Google something like [pitchfork "top 500 tracks" "norah jones"], but this is really haphazard since it'll return any page with any reference to Pitchfork, Norah Jones, etc. Limiting it to [site:pitchfork.com] still doesn't solve the problem. Any suggestions?

Name of a two-member guy/girl band?

Trying to remember the name of a band... ...that may or may not exist. I think I remember the following vague details about them:

-They are a two member band, made up of one man and one woman. Both are young and good-looking.
-They are relatively new, I think from the past couple of years.
-They are an indie, I think folky type band, that I believe has been mentioned on Pitchfork/Stereogum type sites.
-They may have a video/album cover in which the two of them are singing in a car together. Maybe another video in which one or both of them are riding bikes?
-Their name might be of the form "(his name) & (her name)".
-It's not She & Him or Matt and Kim (I don't think).

That's the best I can do for now. Any ideas?

What's the Pitchfork of the electronic music world?

What's the Pitchfork of the electronic music world? I occasionally find good recommendations on Pitchfork for various "electronic" albums, but I'm way out of the loop when it comes to the happenings of the many genres and sub-genres and sub-sub-genres of electronic music. I'm looking for a definitive source for new releases, reviews, and news that covers this niche, Pitchfork-style.

advice for an amateur music critic

I just got press clearance for the Pitchfork Music Festival. I'm not a reporter. What am I supposed to do? Basically this is the coolest thing to ever happen to me. I'm not sure yet what kind of awesome things I will be allowed to observe, but for anyone with any kind of experience in this... what should I be sure to do? I have a crappy digital camera that I will obviously use constantly, and I'm guessing I should bring a notebook or ten. I have to write a feature and I'm kind of overwhelmed.

Will I make my bus after Os Mutantes in Chicago?

I need logistical information on the set Os Mutantes have been playing for their current reunion tour. Will I be able to make it to my Megabus at Union Station by 11 PM to make it home? I will be attending Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago just to see them. I then have reservations to catch the Megabus leaving from Union Station at 11 PM back to Minneapolis so I can pack up and move the following day. Their set is scheduled to start at 9:10 PM. According to one website, this is their setlist for their tour:

Dom Quixote
Caminhante Noturno
Ave Gengis Khan
Technicolor
Virginia
Cantor De Mambo
El Justiciero
Baby
Top Top
Desculpe Babe
Dia 36
Fuga Nº II
Le Premier Bonheur Du Jour
2001
Ave Lucifer
Balada Do Louco
Ando Meio Desligado
Cabeludo Patriota
Minha Menina
Bat Macumba
Panis Et Circencis

Anyone london or NY mefites who have gone to their shows please tell me all the logistical information you have. (Also, if nobody has been to those shows, anyone going to the Denver, SF, LA, or Seattle shows before Chicago, please come back to this post when it's done with. I'll be checking). Looking at those songs on my computer, they seem to mostly be under 4 minutes, not that that tells me much. If they stretch them out during the live shows to an average of 4 minutes including any interludes, that'd make the set about 90 minutes. Is that about how long the london and NY shows have been? Also, have they played any encores? Has anyone been to Pitchfork in the past? If so, do they keep pretty close to the itinerary? If the set is 90 minutes, it would end at 10:40 giving me barely enough time to make my bus, even if I wait right by the exit for the last song to end. Can I expect the set to go any longer? I may need to make alternate travel arrangements then.

Please give me all the info you have. I do not want to miss out on this probably once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, nor do I want to miss my bus and scramble to make it back home, late nonetheless, and have to bust my ass to move out on time.

(Also, anyone who's seen one of the shows, how are they, by the way?)

"Missing" Pitchfork review

Where can I get a copy of Pitchfork Media's original review of "In the Aeroplane Over the Sea" by Neutral Milk Hotel? When the album was reissued in the UK, Pitchfork took the opportunity to rewrite their review, giving it their top score of 10.0. The original review was somewhere in the 7-9 range, I believe. This original page is also newly missing from the Wayback Machine (see here where there is now a broken Wayback link, although many other of their pages remain in the archive).

Did anyone print it out? Did anyone copy and paste it into their blog? Does anyone have any ideas for finding it? Is this just one of the interesting/sad effects of digital media?

Help me find the Pitchfork hack site

I would like to relocate the forum post that described when pitchforkmedia.com was "hacked" last fall. Normally I would attempt to locate it myself but my Google-fu has not been helpful. The forum was a community of people that disliked Pitchfork. The title of the thread in question was something along the lines of "when pitchforkmedia.com/1up becomes pitchforkmedia.com/2up" and it was where someone had merely found a directory containing private emails of the Pitchfork's chief. Can you help me find that thread again?

Webzines (besides Pitchfork) that cover underground music well?

I read Pitchfork every day for their pretentious (yet current) album and single reviews, as well as their often well put together special editions (such as the current year-end edition). My question is this: are there any other webzines that cover underground music to the same extent that are worth a daily visit?
