My Pioneer DVR-112 isn't supported in OSX 10.3.9.
I finally succumbed and joined the DVD age. After a couple of heady days watching DVDs and backing up using Toast, I tried to burn a regular old CD using iTunes and got a shock. My new drive isn't recognised or supported.

I would like to buy a Pioneer DVD-V7400 Industrial DVD Player, which are going pretty cheap on ebay. However, the ones on ebay don't come with remotes, and buying the remote alone costs 50-60 bucks.
So the question is: what are the chances that this player will work with a universal remote? [more inside]

I have a Pioneer PL-518 turntable and an Onkyo HTS-780, they don't work together. Basically the Pioneer has the left/right audio component cables and a little metal prong thing, it looks to be a ground of some sort. [more inside]

Unless it is followed by an even faster probe, will New Horizons become the most distant man-made object in space? If so, when? Are there any projects planned that would pass New Horizons before it passes Voyager 1?

I have two dvd burners in my computer. One is an old(er) LG that is capable of burning (with the right media) at 4x. Last week, I picked up a new one that is capable of burning at 8x. However, the burn times seem to be the same. [more inside]

I have a Pioneer DVD-ROM drive and it was quite good at playing DVDs. I didn't use it for playing movies for a long while and eventually installed a DVD-burner (Pioneer too, actually). Now I can't play movies on my original DVD-ROM drive. It just spits them back out with an unceremonious "No Disc Detected". Data discs, even burned DVD-Rs work fine, as I use the drive for my main drive. Playing them on the burner works fine. Is this copy protection at work or just a strange coincidence?
