I have this safety clasp lapel pin
that I want to attach to my lapel. However it looks like on my suit the buttonhole is just stitching instead of a real hole. The actual pin part slides through easily enough (and I don't have problems with normal butterfly clasps), but how to I get the closing part through without destroying the buttonhole?

Statisticsfilter: Given available information about the distribution of self-selected 4-digit passwords (specifically banking PINs), is it possible to calculate the probability of two randomly selected individuals having the same PIN? If so, what're the odds? [more inside]

I was given this button
with a picture of a bearded fellow on it. He looks familiar but I can't figure out who he is, do you recognize this face?

I found this lapel pin
beneath my living room couch yesterday and have no idea what the emblem is. Can you help me identify it? I'm not sure that I am even holding it the correct way in the photo. [more inside]

Where can I get a pin like Lilly Ledbetter's? She wore it to the White House signing ceremony for the Fair Pay Act today. It is of a woman in a suit with a red briefcase. [more inside]

ShoppingFilter: In order to complete a Halloween costume, I need to acquire some Reagan-related political pins/buttons. However, my initial search has mostly taken me to places that no longer exist! Is there anywhere the Green would suggest I go to in the Washington DC metropolitan area to satiate my thirst for this kind of political paraphernalia? [more inside]

I dropped my phone, but it turned itself back on once I slid the battery back in properly. I though all was well. However, it is now demanding a PIN code and won't let me use the phone without it. I'm not sure why it wants one, and I would give it one if I had one, but I don't have one and don't know how I would find one.
Can you help? It's a Blackberry Curve, if it matters.

My sister is in Italy - and is trying to use an italian (Wind) SIM card in her American cingular GSM phone. It's asking her for a PAC and PIN number - which she doesn't know. What does she do? [more inside]

Tonight I was paying at a gas station and I used the keypad to enter my pin. The numbers 2, 3 and 4 showed tremendous wear compared to all other keys except the enter key. It's the kind of stupid odd trivia that appeals to me. I Googled "common pin numbers" and it seems "123" is pretty common among the unimaginative. But that doesn't explain 2, 3 and 4 being so well-worn, and not 1. Can you?
