Looking for a dustrpoof pillow cover that isn't annoying.

Allergyfilter: Need recommendations for a dustproof pillow cover. I used to have a dustproof pillow cover, but a couple years ago, we got a king sized bed with king sized pillows, and I haven't bothered to get a dustproof pillow cover sized for king sized pillows.

One of the things I never liked about my pillow cover in the past was the "crackly" stiff fabric. It made noise and crackled when I moved my head, sort of like a muffled paper bag.

Can anyone recommend a brand of dustproof pillow cover that isn't "crackly" like this? Do they exist, or is it simply the nature of the dustproof covering?

Where can I get a firm, thick pillow that will last?

I sleep on my side and every pillow I've had flattens after several weeks of use, or just collapses when I put my head in it. This causes my shoulder or back to hurt when I wake up. Is there any type of pillow that will stay firm for a while so I can sleep on my side comfortably? I've tried double pillows, folding a pillow in half, etc. but it never works out.

Help me find some WoW bedding for my boyfriend.

Attention WoW users! I'm trying to find a World of Warcraft blanket or pillow for my boyfriend's upcoming birthday, does anything like this exist? My google-fu is weak. Secondary question: If they don't make these, do you have an recommendations for those websites that will custom make pillow cases and whatnot? I'd like something quality and comfortable, not those cheap looking and feeling homemade pillows you see.

Tertiary question: Any other gift suggestions for a WoW obsessed boyfriend? He's already preordered the new one coming out, and I don't play myself, so I'm kind of at a loss here. T-shirts aren't possible, as he would wear them in public with me (my enabling only goes so far).

Thanks!

Deep cleaning feathers

Cleaning feather/down - I have several feather or down filled things (pillows, cushions, ski jacket, etc.) that over years have have various liquids spilled *into* them. Liquids like juice, pet urine, beer, gasoline, sweat, etc. (not all on the same item!). My point is these are not surface dirt things - this is stuff that seeps through the cover and into the feathers.
I looking for a way to clean the feathers themselves. Is there a fluid that I can soak - say a cushion - in and it will clean the feathers inside? Or a vapor of some kind ? Or will just soapy water do the job if I can be sure to drying the insides properly? All and any advice please, especially on the pet urine soiled item - it'll have to go if I can't clean it 'deeply'. TIA

Sofa/Bed Harmony?

How can I convert my full bed into a sofa temporarily? I would like to buy some kind of device to put onto the side of my bed facing the wall that would make it into into a comfortable couch. I am kind of strapped for space, and guests seem uncomfortable sitting on my bed with my pillows behind them. Is there a pre-manufactured solution to this problem or should I simply find a huge, full-bed sized pillow as a back? I think part of the problem is that to lean back you have to lean back too far and your legs are not dangling as they would on a sofa. Anything firm enough with the right dimensions would be awesome.

How can I alleviate a tight neck and back area?

The left side of my upper back and neck are consistently crick-y, cracky and tight. Once in a while it's painful, but at all hours of the day, I can stretch the muscles and bones in the area and get some clicky sounds. Can you recommend ways that I can alleviate this? I've had massages, and slept on a memory foam pillow, but to no avail. I stretch this area on one of those lower back dealies, which let me hang down, but to no avail.

I was in an ATV accident when I was younger, and I also used to keep my oversized wallet in my left butt pocket, both of which may've contributed to this weird crickiness.

Bedroom tips needed!

Last night I slept in my own bed after several days in the road and realized that the hotel beds were much more comfortable and rejuvenating than my own. How can I replicate the hotel-bed experience at home? My mattress and/or box spring is about due to be replaced, so I'm more than willing to do that. Also looking for tips on the frame and bedding (sheets, blankets, duvet, duvet covers, and pillows... especially duvet and pillows). What should I look for, including specific brands? How often should I expect to replace the various components?

Tips from hotel professionals are especially appreciated.

I have seen the Chillow, but it requires water.

The perfect pillow.

How do I find the perfect pillow? I'd like to find the perfect pillow after years of substandard noggin support.
Pillow Talk: Can pillows be recycled or donated?

What do you do with extra pillows? We were on a kick for a while where we just couldn't find bed pillows of the right thickness, so we bought a bunch that didn't work and now we don't want. Can they be recycled? Donated? Is it considered unhygenic to donate them, even to shelters? Do shelters want them? (We're in Seattle.) Most are barely used or never used. The only thing I can find on Google suggests cutting them apart and using the stuffing as packing material.

Waking Up with a Sore Back

I wake up with sore lower back and stomach muscles every day, and I'm ready to be over it. I have a history of tweaking my back - mainly just from the way I sleep (on my stomach to a large degree). Any suggestions? I use a down pillow, which I've found to be the most important factor. I have tried many different mattresses, and don't think that's the problem. I do yoga and that helps during the day, but I still seem to be injuring myself / holding myself wrong every night. I've also tried the technique of sleeping with a pillow underneath my groin area, or the knees. I try to fall asleep on my back or side but usually in the end have to turn onto my stomach to go to the final unconsciousness - though I often wake up on my back or side.
Any suggestions?
It's not that big a deal, in terms on negative effects, but I am tired of it.
Thanks.
