I need a pillow for when I'm sitting up in bed reading/computing so I stop screwing up my back trying to get comfortable. There are a lot of options, though! What's best for back/neck support? Traditional reading pillows (the kind with arms) or wedge pillows? What material will work well for this?

I need to purchase three pillows. I have the internet, Costco, Sam's Club, WalMart, Target, Kohls, and the other usual suspects from whom I can purchase the thing. What's the best pillow to gt? [more inside]

my brother Steve and I both have neck pains. We're considering buying the My Pillow we saw at Wal-Mart yesterday. The problem is it costs $60.00. Has anybody bought this thing
and tried it out? What do you think? Please answer ASAP. Thanks.

After any sort of cold/respiratory illness, I descend into a month or two of sore throat, raw/drippy/sneezy nose, and asthma-type-coughing and wheezing caused by post-nasal drip. In high school, I briefly used a wedge pillow to minimize this and I'm considering getting one again, but I'm not sure if my sleeping position is compatible with a wedge pillow. Any experiences and advice welcome. [more inside]

I want to buy square pillow forms and make the covers myself. I want the forms to be at least 16" but larger is better. The cushions will be used by heavy people for lower back support or for head support when lying down in the couch. What sort of pillow is NOT going to compress over time to become a sad, flat pancake pillow? Assume a complete lack of knowledge regarding pillow ingredients, brands, types and sources. [more inside]

I think it's time for a new pillow - one that will help alleviate chronic neck/back pain. Preferably suited for back sleepers. I'll even settle for something that doesn't make the pain worse at this point - the last two weeks have pushed me to the limit.

First night on the new mattress and I feel horrible - do I need a topper or a new pillow or ??? We replaced our sagging mushy tempurpedic with a new latex mattress yesterday and while it felt awesome when we first went to bed over the course of the night I went from comfy to miserable. I woke up exhuasted, with a headache and tight neck and shoulders. My husband slept great and he is the one with serious back pain, so I want to make this bed work for us. [more inside]

I would love to buy, or possibly make, a giant Totoro plush pillow, something I could actually sleep on. If it's not big enough for me, I'd like one that would be big enough for a child to sleep on, and that I could rest on. Searching the internet at large turns up nothing, so I turn to y'all. Thanks!

Do you have an awesome bed? A bed you're daydreaming about right now? I want you to tell me about it. Your favorite mattress, pillows, mattress topper, sheets, comforter, duvet cover, anything. All suggestions welcome.

My friend agreed for me to full on tackle him... We are in the 10th grade, I outweigh him by probably 80lbs, and he said he would let me do it... Questions: can we get in trouble or suspended?
Im will only be a few feet away, and he will have pillows, a helmet, and will land on some grass, can he (or I) get hurt?
And finally, if one of us DOES get hurt, what will the injurys be?

A silly question, but how do I use those U-shaped neck pillows? I know I'm supposed to put the wider part (bottom of "U") behind my neck, but this pushes my chin down and as I have no support for it on the front (top of "U"), my neck hurts even more than if I just let my head loll around. I sleep on my side and every pillow I've had flattens after several weeks of use, or just collapses when I put my head in it. This causes my shoulder or back to hurt when I wake up. Is there any type of pillow that will stay firm for a while so I can sleep on my side comfortably? I've tried double pillows, folding a pillow in half, etc. but it never works out.

Cleaning feather/down - I have several feather or down filled things (pillows, cushions, ski jacket, etc.) that over years have have various liquids spilled *into* them. Liquids like juice, pet urine, beer, gasoline, sweat, etc. (not all on the same item!). My point is these are not surface dirt things - this is stuff that seeps through the cover and into the feathers.
I looking for a way to clean the feathers themselves. Is there a fluid that I can soak - say a cushion - in and it will clean the feathers inside? Or a vapor of some kind ? Or will just soapy water do the job if I can be sure to drying the insides properly? All and any advice please, especially on the pet urine soiled item - it'll have to go if I can't clean it 'deeply'. TIA

The left side of my upper back and neck are consistently crick-y, cracky and tight. Once in a while it's painful, but at all hours of the day, I can stretch the muscles and bones in the area and get some clicky sounds. Can you recommend ways that I can alleviate this? [more inside]

Ribbons criss-cross over a thin wall-mounted cushion so that lots of photos can be tucked between the ribbons to form a collage. What the heck is this frame/mount/doohickey called? Googling for obvious phrases like "collage pillow" and "photo ribbon" turn up only unrelated items.

What do you do with extra pillows? We were on a kick for a while where we just couldn't find bed pillows of the right thickness, so we bought a bunch that didn't work and now we don't want. Can they be recycled? Donated? Is it considered unhygenic to donate them, even to shelters? Do shelters want them? (We're in Seattle.) Most are barely used or never used. The only thing I can find on Google suggests cutting them apart and using the stuffing as packing material.
