Hi all. I'm trying to learn how to play the organ solo in "She's Not There" or alternatively "Sticks and Stones" by the Zombies. I'm not sure what they are... the blues scale? I have moderate piano experience.

I'm trying to learn to play the piano, and right now I'm using
this book by Scott Houston, who is a huge advocate of lead sheet music and "fake" books. I really, really like the book, and even after just sitting down for a little bit I can already play some basic stuff like row, row, row your boat and jingle bells. However, there is one snag: the book's philosophy is that you should think of the one song you would most like to play on the piano and learn how to play by starting with that song first, an idea which I really love except for the fact that the one song I would really like to play more than anything else is Pachelbel's Canon in D. He specifically says in the book that his teaching method is completely unsuited for learning classical piano. I really don't want to learn how to play classical piano except for this one song, but this is one song I would really like to learn. Is there any way around this?

different lady singing/talking a quite funny song about learning to play stride piano. Judy Carmichael? Not on her discography. Stephanie Trick? Likewise. Help?

Hey, did you ever see The Conversation? Remember how the soundtrack was mostly one dude on a piano? Can you recommend more music to me like that, where it's really engaging and moody like The Conversation soundtrack, but it's also just one guy?

What classical music piece is used
here? I know the frenetic piece following is Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody but I'm stumped with tranquil piano part. It sounds like a Mozart Piano Sonata though I'm not sure which one.

Movie title filter. I need help remembering a title. In the movie, there's a scene where a group of people moved a grand piano over difficult terrain. Possibly a combination of forest (or jungle) and mountain. It might have been South America or Africa. There might have been missionaries, or a church, in the story, but I'm not sure. There might have been a building made of glass in the jungle, but I may be confusing that with another movie.

I've been trying Pro Keyboard mode in Rock Band 3 and I'm really enjoying it, however I have no idea whether I'm putting the right fingers on the right keys! The training modes explain it a little but there's no guidance in the actual songs. Is there an online resource or book that will teach me the basics of this?

Please help me find some sheet music. The piano is finally out of storage, tuned, ready to play and I cannot find my favorite sheet music. ARGH. The Gayaneh Ballet Suite; by Aram Khatchurian (I've tried various spellings of the last name and of the ballet name), arranged for solo piano. A friend gave me a Russian language edition in high school. it's missing and I cannot find a publisher. There's a shop in town that can order it, if I can find a publisher.

When I learned to touch type, I used software where the letters appeared and did not go until I had pressed the right key. I was wondering if there is any similar software for reading music but with a usb/midi keyboard. I know it wouldn't be much use for improving timing, but it would help with learning notes and possibly chords too.

I'm an amateur classical pianist. I used to give solo recitals at college, and I would like to start performing again out here in the real world. But what sort of group/organisation/event do I need to get involved with to have this kind of opportunity? Could I organise a little independent recital for myself, or is that weird and too egotistical?
