I offered to help a professional photographer friend make his web site, but I don't normally do it like THIS: He is a Photoshop wizard and has created how he wants his pages to look using that. He gave me a CD full of pages as TIFs. Is there a quick/easy way to make sites from TIFs using ImageReady or Fireworks? Pointers, links, tutorials, ect. GREATLY appreciated. (I realize that this does not result in the optimal site, but the guy wants it to look like he wants it to look).

In Fireworks it's a one-click process to export an image slice individually (ie. right-click and select "export selected slice"). Is is possible to do the same thing quickly using Adobe ImageReady?

Art Theory Question: If somebody electronically adds an artwork into another virtual canvas (ex: a Moleskine page scan ), can he rightfully call it "Moleskine Art"?. Same goes for Photoshopped art on a quilt, graffiti on a blank wall, et c. Is it unethical for an artist to suggest that a work was done manually when it has been manipulated electronically? Your opinions or links to pertinent discussions elsewhere is much appreciated.

Hopefully a simple question, but I can't think of a googly-good way to ask. Is there a way in Photoshop to open multiple images as layers in a single PSD? For instance, can I select 10 .jpg images and somehow magically make them into a stack of layers in one .psd file I'm working on? Right now, I'm doing this by hand (open file, select all, copy, paste into .psd, wish for a better way).

What do you call the form of gradient colour fill that uses just two colours - the new one starts as dots which get larger until they start merging while the old colour turns into dots that are getting smaller? It's a technique I associate with old newsprint.
Does anyone know if there's a photoshop filter to replicate it?

I have a large amount of CBZ and CBR files that are ZIP and RAR files respectively with scanned JPEGs of comic books inside them. Thing is, the levels on the scans are sometimes too dark or too bright. Is there a windows program that would batch fix the levels (like photoshop's Automatic Levels command) on the compressed archives without having to unzip pr unrar them first?

Adobe Photoshop 7.0 problem: I just installed around 3000 fonts on my Windows XP system, and now photoshop won't start. It starts loading the reading font part of setup and then craps out saying: "Unable to continue because of a hardware or system error. Sorry, but this error is unrecoverable." What can I do besides deleting all the fonts I installed?

I've recently moved to a dual-monitor set up, one CRT and one LCD, and I've discovered that I have a strange problem with Photoshop. If I open photos I've shot, on the LCD, they appear brighter and oversaturated -- when I open the same photo to the CRT, the colour is darker. If I open a photo on the LCD and then move it to the CRT, the photo will contain rectangles of colour that match either the appearance on the LCD or CRT. Is this some kind of colour profile issue that I don't understand? I've installed the LCD calibration software and that's about all I can think of doing to solve the problem. Help?!

I've been drawing a
comic book, and I'm assembling and coloring the pages in Photoshop. My old 4 X 5 Wacom Graphire 3 tablet seems to be falling short of my needs (poor tracking, and meager pressure sensitivity), and I was looking for opinions about replacing it with a 4 X 5 Intuos tablet (twice the pressure sensitivity) or a larger Graphire 3 (6 X 8)?
Thanks.

I put my old 10gb laptop hdd in a USB enclosure and bought a USB 2.0 pcmcia card. The speed is good enough that I would like to use the drive as a scratch disk for various programs I work with, but primarily Adobe Photoshop. Problem is, PS won't list it as an option in the scratch disks settings menu. It only lists the startup disk and the C drive, which are the same drive. How can I trick my computer into treating the external drive as an internal not-plug'n'play, regular old drive? Or just trick Photoshop. (Ver. 7, btw, and on a PC) Thanks.

Adobe Photoshop Album v1 question. I have about 3gb worth of digital photos currently stored on my C drive. I copied everything (including the directory structure) to an external hard drive and renamed the directory on C:\ from pictures to picturesOLD. As expected Pshop Album couldn't find the pictures. When I tried to point it to their new home (F:\media\pictures\*)
it wanted me to manually select each file to "reconnect." I tried google and adobe forums. Can't find a thing.
Is there any way to get Pshop Album to recognize that nothing has changed except the location of the files or am I screwed? [more inside]

A client sent me his company's logos in .PSP (Paint Shop Pro) format, however I am on a Mac and would like to edit them in Photoshop. I need a program that will convert .PSP to .PSD, while maintaining the original layers in the .PSP file. I don't want to have to manually remove all of the white space surrounding the logo, so keeping the layers intact is very important. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Photoshop gurus: I've got a rectangular photo, which I plop down in the middle of a colored background. I'd like to create a smooth transparency
gradient in the photo with respect to the background (more transparent at the top, opaque at the bottom). How would one do this?
(Specifically, I'm contructing a header image for a website... the top of the header is a solid color, with logo, etc. in it, while the bottom of the header is the photo. I'd like the solid area to dissolve into the photo).
Thanks- if anyone ever needs PHP/Postgresql advice, let me know!
