What's the easiest way to take a bunch (between 150 and 250) of photos and create a DVD of a slideshow of those photos and set some background music using a few mp3 files? I'm using Windows 7. I'd like it to be playable on a standard non-computer DVD player.

I have a how-to type Wordpress blog and I'd like to start adding more photo essays and tutorials to it. I'm looking for advice about the best ways to organize and display them, recommendations for plugins or software that can make my job easier, and links to web sites that have found a way to do it better than almost everyone else. I'm looking for a way to make very occasional photo prints, color and b&w, in the 8x10 and 11x14 range. I've looked at buying a printer and concluded that's not cost effective for my needs. Ideally, I'd like to send a Photoshop file to someone and then drive by to pick up the prints or have them ship the prints to me. Are any of the online services any good? If so, who is the best? What about places like Costco and Kinkos? I've found a few old threads here on this subject, so I suspect things have changed. I'm looking for better than drugstore/Walmart/Target quality.
I want to get some feedback on my idea for photographing eroded gravestones before I go out and buy the materials to test it. I propose taking two camera flashes and putting green film over one and red film over the other. Then I'll mount one on the left and one on the right of the camera. I hope that this will give green shadows on one side of the carvings and red shadows on the other, and by fiddling with the resulting photo in Photoshop I'll be able to see the faded carvings better. Does this sound as though it would work? Could I get by with a single coloured flash? Is there a better way?
Suddenly no one gets MMS photos i send (their screen's blank). i sent one to myself and it worked. it doesn't matter what carrier they have. my tech support (verizon) said it was an issue with the other carriers. i read through other posts here, took the battery out for 30 seconds, to no avail. any suggestions? thanks.

I'm looking for a program (OS X, must be 10.5.8-compatible with my oldtimey work computer) that will generate contact sheets of photos and it must print the file name under each photo and allow for a title to be entered on top (ex. Marcy Building Site Visit 1/13/2010). Right now, my work computer has iPhoto 5 and Photoshop Elements 3 on it. PE can do everything except auto-add a title. Is there anything that can do all of this AND run on this crotchety eMac?
Help me, hive mind. I vaguely recall an image (in Time Magazine, perhaps) of a man wading in waist-deep water holding a sign that said "Leadership please." I think it was from the Hurricane Katrina disaster but I'm not entirely sure. Have looked and looked online to no avail. Can anyone help?
Are there better alternatives to flickr for sharing photos with a large group of international people? I'm trying to come up with an easy way to have access from the US to people's photos from abroad -- particularly the Mid East, Philippines, South Africa, and Argentina -- without having to e-mail multiple attachments or send photo CDs through the mail. I have a lot of photos on my blog that I want to put into a gallery, but there are so many that I don't want to deal with reuploading them somewhere or installing a feature-creepy (I just made that up!) gallery script and putting them all into it. They're all in a big messy directory on my server, so is there a very simple script that will look in the directory for anything that's a JPG and spit it out in gallery format? Or, if you know PHP: I could probably write the thing myself, but what would the code for "look in /directoryx/, put all filenames into this array" look like?

A few days ago, I unknowingly spilled water on a pile of old photo prints that I am planning on scanning. They dried, and now, as a result, the bottom twenty are stuck together. How can I separate the prints without tearing or otherwise ruining them? If that is impossible, I still have the negatives somewhere; how can I best scan negatives into a regular flatbed scanner?
