I'm thinking about upgrading my camera from a 10-year-old point-and-shoot to take photos of an imminent new baby (and eventual child-on-the-go), but the options are crazy-making. What's a good used Nikon DSLR for a beginner? Any models out there that also do video? Looking to spend $300-$400 on the camera body, another $200-$300 on a lens and I have no idea at which of the zillion models to focus my eBay searches on. [more inside]
Looking for a video of a technology demo, which uses high-def photos to add details to video by intelligently overlaying the photo on the video and deforming the photos as the video moves. I vaguely recall it as being TED-talk-like, with shots of a (young, possibly Asian?) guy at a podium and shots of the video in action. My google-fu is failing me.

What's the best way to share short posts, videos and photos of our new baby with our families and friends who live an ocean away? [more inside]
I'm looking for the grossest/most painful pictures on the internet. [more inside]
Is there a way to manually upload photos to an iPod Video? i.e. without syncing and erasing the files already on my iPod? I already manually manage music and video on it. I'd take any solutions for Windows or Mac OS.
Some people on the media platform took photos or video of me and the sign I was holding at D.C. on Saturday in the Ellipse. Where can I look for this picture/video? [more inside]
