I want to get some feedback on my idea for photographing eroded gravestones before I go out and buy the materials to test it. I propose taking two camera flashes and putting green film over one and red film over the other. Then I'll mount one on the left and one on the right of the camera. I hope
that this will give green shadows on one side of the carvings and red shadows on the other, and by fiddling with the resulting photo in Photoshop I'll be able to see the faded carvings better. Does this sound as though it would work? Could I get by with a single coloured flash? Is there a better way?

Calling all Photoshop and photo enhancement experts, and/or people who can pick out Hebrew letters: help me digitally fiddle with these photos of old weathered Romanian-Jewish tombstones to make the inscriptions clearer, so that I can hopefully get the Hebrew writing on them translated. A few models from OneModelPlace & ModelMayhem have contacted me in regards to photo editing. They are asking for my prices and for the last 6-7 years or so, I've always done them for free for my friends and people I worked with. What are the prices like for photo editing via Photoshop/Lightoom? How much could I charge? [more inside]

I'm scanning old family photos and the scanner appears to be adding colored pixels to black and white photos. What do I do now? [more inside]

How extensively are professional modeling photos retouched (i.e., those in Vogue and similar publications)? I've heard that this is a common practice, but I'm curious as to how much the photos are altered from the original image. Was this possible before the advent of Photoshop?

How can I fix dog "red eye." Well, its worse than red eye, the dog's eyes are completely gone and are replace with two glowing orange spheres. I've read some howtos on the subject of rendering eyes using simple photoshop tools, but that really isnt going to work. Anyone here experienced in digital photo manipulation want to fix this photo for me for a modest fee? Or know where I can get this service done cheaply?
