I just bought a digital camera at a second hand store and found about 20 of what look like prom pictures. Is there a lost and found photo site where I can post them since I have no way of knowing who these people are or how to find them, but don't want to delete their pics?
Okay, so I just got back from a long vacation, where I took something like 5,000 photos. How do I sort, refine, process, and organize them? [more inside]
I'm having problems with taking photos indoors when there's a lot of movement. Prime example: weddings. Most of the shots turn out blurry. I have a basic digital camera with a setting for low light but it's at a low resolution and too grainy to print. Without using a tripod or flash what's the best way to adjust the manual settings to compensate?
I'm thinking about upgrading my camera from a 10-year-old point-and-shoot to take photos of an imminent new baby (and eventual child-on-the-go), but the options are crazy-making. Camcorder, point-and-shoot, or interchangeable lenses? Video, pocketability, or picture quality? What did you find was the best option? I already have an iPhone 5s that I will use for quick snaps. Using various relatively cheap adaptors, zoom lenses and lens-reversal rings (the greatest thing that ever happened to Nikon dSLRs!), I had fun taking lots of pictures of really tiny things with my previous cameras. However, now I have a Sony NEX-5k which, for its wonderful optics, great features and excellent resolution doesn't seem to have anything that I can find to do the same type of work. Can anyone recommend a hack or accessory that will let me take more pics like those I used to (or even of smaller things!)?
I want to buy an entry-level dSLR for everyday toddler/family pictures. Should I go with a Nikon D80 or a Canon Rebel Xsi? And which lens(es)? [more inside]

I'm looking for an affordable, but still good quality camera to use for nighttime shots. My current camera is a Canon SD1000, which has an incredibly good macro mode, and takes decent pictures otherwise, but the nighttime mode leaves much to be desired. [more inside]

I need to shoot a series of photos of my hands. I've got a good digital camera (that takes good photos, generally), I've got a Gorilla flexible tripod. I have a nicely painted wall or two to serve as backdrop...including one near a window where light shines in directly onto that wall. But while I'm not sure why this would be so challenging (I don't need GREAT results, just reasonably good ones), I can't get anything decent looking at all. [more inside]

What caused the light to do the weird radial effect in my picture? I'm guessing it's the UV HAZE filter I leave over my lens? Does the effect have a name? Like some weird form of "blooming"? Shot with a Canon Rebel XTi with a 28-135mm USM IS, 6 second exposure.
I got a new camera for Christmas. I love it and want to do something with it aside from taking photos whenever I'm out somewhere. [more inside]

What are the best camera settings to use when taking pictures at a concert in a small club? Mine always come out really blurry. Canon S45 digital camera, if that helps any (4mp).
I'm helping my mother buy a digital camera for her extended trip to Thailand and have exhausted dpreview.com and the various other review sites. I need real-people recommendations: she wants something with decent resolution (at least 3 mp; I hope for 4 or better); under $300 hopefully; decent battery life (we tried a Nikon Coolpix but the batteries didn't last long enough - the Canon Powershot s50 batteries lasted for 200 shots and lots of flash, but the camera is just out of her price range); compact flash, since I have a number of cards for her, and ease of use. And it has to work with an older iMac with os9. Any ideas?
I'm thinking of buying the new Nikon D70 digital, Nikons answer to the Canon Rebel. What lens should I get? I want to do travel photography big landscapes, nature, and occasional cultural/people shots. Someone mentioned this 17-35mm as very good but is that the best for this kind of photography?
