I think I am ready to begin the transition into trying to put my photography in galleries. My main question is what are the steps that artists go through to gain exposure for their work? Portrait of the editrix as a young woman

I'd like to have a nice formal picture of me for inclusion in my Christmas cards. Can anyone recommend a good Toronto-area photographer? "Good" in this instance means both "technically skilled if not possessed of wizard-like abilities" and "charges reasonable prices" as I am a) vain, b) plain, and c) cheap. Email me with contact info if you don't care to share the person's identity with the world. Thanks!

Alone in a hotel room

Photofilter: in a college history of photography class I remember seeing some slides from a color photographer who took pictures of lonely-looking people in hotel rooms. One in particular was a man, fully clothed, sitting on the edge of a bed in what was obviously a mid-price motel room. There was a sort of pale green cast to the shot. Anybody know who the photographer is?
