I've got a vintage Pentax K1000 that I would like to get looked and and CLA (Clean, Lube, and Adjust) serviced. I've got a bit of a sentimental attachment to it, so I am looking for personal experiences/recommendations.

I'd like to buy a bulk (i.e., 20+ in a stack) slide scanner that will work with recent-model (usb/firewire/thunderbolt) macs. I see prices ranging from $1200 for used Braun scanners, to some real cheapies that look like a mistake waiting to happen for under $200. What's in the middle? Most of the used Nikons in the $500 range on ebay are SCSI only; I'd love something that works with current hardware (i.e., NOT SCSI) and has a pretty wide gamut - something approximating the RAW quality I get from my digital SLR. Is there hope for me?

Would it be feasible to restart Kodachrome film production and developing services on a small scale, in the way that
The Impossible Project has restarted small scale production of instant film for Polaroid cameras? By feasible, I mean doing it at a scale that would make enough profit to keep one or two people employed to do the work.

High Art, and was deeply moved by the way the movie conveyed a way of seeing, which I feel is now available as a direction for myself.

I have found myself in the possession of a few interesting vintage motion and still film cameras which look to be in great shape, including cases and manuals. While they look neat, I know nothing about them. I tried googling them, but couldn't find anything specific enough to help me decide what I should do with them. I'd like to know if they're worth anything and where I can look to find how much they're going for and where I might advertise them. Specifics and photos inside...

About ten years ago, I was given a couple Pentax 35mm film SLR bodies, and some lenses, which I was happy with. Especially the SMC-M 50mm f/1.4 lens, with which I discovered bokeh and existing-light photography. But after a while, I got tired of having to store and process film, since I just put all the pictures into my computer anyway. So I got a *ist DS, since that was compatible with all my lenses. But my favorite prime lens has been turned into a zoom by the reduced sensor size. The closest equivalent I've found is the FA 31mm Limited, but that costs ~$1000 USD, and its not even f1.4, its f1.8. Given this issue, along with the fussiness of getting all the auto-exposure/focus stuff to work the way I want it to, and I'm really missing my film camera bodies. Or is there an alternative?

I'm in Madrid this semester, and would like to pick up an old rangefinder camera (film) or similar for around 20 euros. Is digging around antique shops and similar my best bet? Do you know a place? Or are there actually some not-terribly-expensive used camera shops in this big pretty city? Are there secondhand shops/thrift stores at all in this town? Aware of El Rastro, tried once with no luck and will probably try again Sunday. I'll also be in London next weekend and am not opposed to buying it there if you know a place.

I'd like recommendations of a good ~$200 film SLR for a beginner. I'll be using the kit lens for now.
I can't afford a digital SLR. I know the cost of film/development adds up, but for now I just need something to get off my feet.
I've been doing photography for years, but I never learned beyond point-and-shoot cameras. Something that's compact and fairly new would be great, but not required. I like to take nature and portrait shots.

I just got a diana f+ camera. I have shoten? shot, 3 rolls of film and none of them have turned out well. All of the images are extremely blurry. We have tried out the fish eye, the telephoto and the wide angle lenses as well as the color gels and the long exposures. So far only the long exposures seem to be turning out at all. None of the other pics display the attributes of the accessories used. There are no color changes or changes in the clarity. SO my question is...what am I doing wrong?
