How much money does the gossip magazine / gossip blog / tabloid industry make?

So, celebrity gossip is everywhere and lots of $$$ is forked out for images of famous babies, etcetera... BUT how much money does the gossip industry MAKE? I can't find any online statistics about Gossip Industry Revenues. It's actually very odd and mysterious.

I'm looking for numbers on gossip magazines, gossip blogs and/or the tabloid industry, with the goal of comparing the Gossip numbers to the Porn Industry and the Television Industry respectively. I could use global numbers, US or North American numbers.

It would be useful to find a webpage as comprehensive as this: http://internet-filter-review.toptenreviews.com/internet-pornography-statistics.html

...but I would take a single, high impact sentence about the tabloids and gossip rags (such as this gem: "US Porn Revenues are greater than the combined revenues of ABC, CBS and NBC"), which was properly cited and verifiable.

Anyone got anything?

Are there any NYC photographers who will do family portraits for a reasonable price?

I don't know why photographers' websites are all so terrible, but I am having difficulty looking for a good photographer in New York City who will display a general idea of rates. I want to get some family portraits done (6 adults, one baby), and I want something better than Sears, but something less than $1,000. Google and yelp.com aren't providing me too many options - it seems most want to do just headshots or weddings. I give up on websites that make me click through several pages without letting me easily find contact info or rates.

I would love any specific recommendations for photographers who will do family portraits in New York?

Thanks!

Somebody shoot me...?

Where can I find a reputable photographer in the Oregon Coast area? I would very much like to have photos done when my significant other comes to visit in a week, but I live in Podunkville and haven't explored the outlying regions well enough to know who's out there.

Are there any studios in the Central Oregon Coast region who are reputable and don't charge an arm and a leg? I'm looking for something above Wal-mart quality, but can't afford to drop several hundred dollars for a photo session, either.

To give you an idea of location, we will be traveling from as far south as Gold Beach, to as far north as Lincoln City, so anywhere somewhat within that range would be optimal. Thank you for your help!

Something along these lines: http://www.photo-stop.com/images/models/male/neil/photo_neil02_model.jpg
Emerging artists... who are your picks of relatively, virtually, or literally (but for you, I suppose) unknown artists who create things I can put in my home (ie, not filmmakers/animators/writers/comic writers, etc.), such as paintings, pottery, furniture, photographs, etc? Criteria inside... Please only list artists:

1. who have a web site with samples
2. who are not already major names (ie, are "affordable" (I know that's relative)).
3. will be, in your opinion, well known in the future (ie, breaking boundaries or challenging their medium, etc.)

Looking for Arizona desert photographer

Looking for a photographer specializing in desert photos in Arizona. My company is looking for a photographer, ideally in Arizona, who specializes in desert photography. We are running a high level corporate event for a Fortune 500 company and would like to hire a photographer to attend the event and display 14-15 framed, signed photos. At the end of the evening, each couple will select a photo which will be given to them as a gift by the host.

We are looking for photos in the $150-200 range. I've already contacted one well-known photographer in Arizona, who would charge $500-600 per framed photo. I suppose I need someone less accomplished. Any suggestions - either specific photographers, or places to look?

How Do I Hire Photographers?

How can I hire, sight-unseen, photographers in at least 12 countries? I have a photo-essay project I'm working on, and I need specific photos from a large number of countries. Semipro or "prosumer" photographers would suffice, I believe. Stock photo houses don't have what I need, and I'm completely at a loss as to how to proceed [MI]. I'm (obviously) happy to pay these people, but I also have no idea what's an acceptable going rate in all of my target countries, to say nothing of the various legal entanglements (regarding copyright, duplication rights, etc.). The photography would be slightly more complex than portraiture, and would be outdoors. I considered trying to find wedding photographers, but their rates seem astronomical, as I only need one photo per site. My comparatively low budget also complicates matters, as I can't afford the various agency stringers I've managed to stumble across.

Should I just give up? Spend the next few years travelling around to take the photos myself?

Who are your favorite underappreciated painters, sculptors and photographers (etc.)?

So I started a new site which is basically endowment bait for underappreciated visual artists. I want to get lots of people involved; who are your favorite young, new, upcoming or otherwise underappreciated painters, sculptors and photographers (etc.)? This is proving an excellent way for me to see all kinds of stuff that doesn't get to the few good galleries near where I live or the big museums that I visit whenever I can.
