I'd love to see more work by this photographer. I've tried what I think are likely google searches and have found nothing - maybe I'm using the wrong search terms, but if anyone knows or has suggestions, I'd be grateful! Photo here.

can anyone remember the name of that movie, I think it's Brazilian, about the girl photographer/traveler who happens upon a village of old people and stays at the old woman/bread maker's home?
the girl uses pinhole photography and is generally treated with suspicion but, over the next couple of days, she affects the people of the town?
it's on Netflix instant but damned if I can recall the name.

I am thinking of buying a nice framed photo that is recognizably DC (landmarks, cherry blossoms, etc., or something more creative) as a wedding gift. I looked at Art.com and everything was pretty generic, 'obvious' and postcard-looking. I'd love to find a photo that is a bit more unique, or even perhaps a cool framed graphic print. My budget is not awesome: I am looking to spend under $300. Any recommendations of websites/photographers/artists I should check out?

He took portraits of people on the street and arranged these portraits into collections of 'types' - parka boys, gabber girls, nonnas, Muslimahs etc. Does this ring a bell for anyone?

My fiancée and I want to have our engagement photos done. Rather than pose in front of scenic backdrops, we'd like to have photos taken in front of a green screen, then have vistas from video games that are special to us inserted behind us. For instance, in the finished product, we're in front of the castle from Super Mario 64
or a Paris nightclub from Sly Cooper
. Is this something that professional photographers can/will do? I know there's green screen photo places, but will they add the game backgrounds that we provide? Are there licensing/copyright issues in play that will get in the way of this?

I need to hire a photographer to take some photos of my organization's founder, which will be used in various publications. Ideally, I'd need these photos taken this week
. I'm not sure where to begin looking for a photographer, or how much (ballpark) this will cost us. [more inside]

Any tips for photographer patter while taking slightly candid portraits?
For marketing/social media purposes, I’ll be taking individual candid portraits of a large number of people at my company. I’ve already taken a good handful, and although I have a good eye for angles and setting up the shot, I have a difficult time directing the subjects and am hoping to learn some new phrases and strategies. Hi, I am helping out with a young and growing non-profit and they need professional photography to update some of the picture content their new website. What is the best to find a good photographer who would be willing to donate their time for a good cause? Is it reasonable to try to find a way to get this work for free? If not, what should we be willing to spend? [more inside]

Help me remember a photographer's name. He photographed his mother's neat and tidy and everything-in-its-place kitchen cabinets and paired them with abusive quotes from his father as he slid further into dementia. I saw his photos in a slide show among other photographers and googling "photographer kitchen cabinets abusive quote" just isn't getting me very far. He may have printed a book.

What is the best photographer fee approach for portrait photography? Mrs. dyno04 is getting into the photography business and is trying to figure out how to best price sittings, prints, etc... We don't really like the sitting fee + price per print approach. So we are thinking about either a sitting fee + price per print + after X amount of prints receiving print release rights or sitting fee includes print release rights.
If you were going to pay someone to take pictures (she is targeting babies, families, possibly pets), what kind of fee structure would you like to see from a photographer?
