Can you identify this picture from my vague recollection of it? In 1988 or '89 I bought a small poster (no larger than 3' x 2') featuring a black-and-white photograph of a woman lying on a bed, smoking a cigarette. [more inside]
Does anyone know anything about this photograph? I came across it on a stranger's Tumblr site and it's completely unattributed, and no amount of Googling has turned up even a clue as to where it's from. Looks like it's out of a book (page number in the bottom right), but beyond that, I got nothin'. I'm totally intrigued by it. (Note: I've already emailed the blog owner via their Tumblr site, so please don't email them again; I don't want to harass them...) Thanks!

I bought this photo at a yard sale today. The woman who sold it to me had no idea who the people in it are. She said she'd had the photo since 1960. It's clearly a lot older than that. What, if anything, can you tell me about it?

Another creative commons question concerning a photograph. The photo is on Flickr (with generic all rights reserved), and that's where an interested person spotted and communicated to me wanting to buy the rights for use of the photograph. Catch, I also uploaded the same photo to Wikipedia with a CC-attribution and share a like license on it, as well a GNU-Free Documentation License. Now what? [more inside]

I read a true crime book some years back, I don't remember anything about the book except one story. My memory is hazy, but this is what I remember: some people were abducted in the USA. My memory tells me it was a mother and child/ren. I'm 99% certain it was an adult woman and at least one child even if they may not have been related. Now the very creepy part. Photos of these people were found in a public bathroom sometime later. In the photos the woman was tied up, perhaps a child was also in the photo I'm not sure. I'd like to verify if this story was indeed true or just made up by the author and I've tried googling many times without luck. I'm sure it has nothing to do with Harvey Glatman.

Help me identify this photograph. The form I have it in is cut from a magazine (or similar) and then glued to a piece of sturdy paper, the person I got it from doesn't remember where she got it. I just think it's a really nice picture and wonder if it'd be possible to get a better quality version somewhere. I've tried googling around, but to no avail.
