Some friends have asked me to take their engagement photos; most of the obvious backdrops are cold and less attractive due to the weather. We're in Philly, where should we go?

I have a low end MacBook with Tiger OS. I have some 2500 photos that I want to back up on a flash/jump drive. I can't seem to do it. I can back up to a disk but not the jump drive. The jump drive is a Kingston and is supposed to work with Macs.

I just bought a new Canon digital camera, an SX110IS, and have discovered that it doesn't have the stitch assist mode. I may yet return it, but I'm wondering what would I need to do to still do a decent panorama without the assist? Obviously I have to frame the photos for overlap, but the real benefit of stitch assist mode was the exposure control. What should I do, manually, to get good panoramas as a result?

This new lens from Sigma (18-250 zoom) comes in a Pentax mount. Pentax puts their DSLR image stabilization in the camera body and not in the lens like Nikon or Canon. Yet the description for all the lenses is the same - image stabilization in the lens. Is this a case of cut&paste product descriptions or would using this lens on a Pentax camera have double image stabilization (both lens & camera body)?

Looking for a picture/drawing of a bear statue from behind (possibly facing forward) - from what I recall, it looked like a chainsaw-cut carving of a brown or black bear out of a tree. Could be B&W lineart of one and I recall the grooves of the "fur flaps" being very deep but symmetrical - not rough-cut and not rounded. Thinking of using it along with a drawn "cub" of similar look & feel for a tattoo.

Also any tips on detecting photoshopped photos would be appreciated. Even better if someone on the 'net outed them before MSM caught it.

This might be a wild goose chase. But can anyone help me track down any sort of a technical clue for

I read a true crime book some years back, I don't remember anything about the book except one story.
My memory is hazy, but this is what I remember: some people were abducted in the USA. My memory tells me it was a mother and child/ren. I'm 99% certain it was an adult woman and at least one child even if they may not have been related.
Now the very creepy part. Photos of these people were found in a public bathroom sometime later. In the photos the woman was tied up, perhaps a child was also in the photo I'm not sure.
I'd like to verify if this story was indeed true or just made up by the author and I've tried googling many times without luck.
I'm sure it has nothing to do with
Harvey Glatman.
