I'm looking for software to create a themed photo slideshow from existing pictures. For example, I want a bunch of pics from a conference to have a "Wild West" theme (or "spy" or "beach", etc.) - frames/background and (ideally) background music. Prefer under $100, but I want to know regardless of price point. Anything out there?

Can you help me find a small, square format digital display that can play video or animated gifs?
I found a bunch of digital photo keyframes that would be perfect but they don't seem to display animated gifs or videos. Any ideas?

I would like to add video to a scrapbook/photoalbum. What device could best do this, cheaply? I have a Sansa Fuze mp3 player, which is small and can play video, but when turning it on, a reader would have to know how/where to navigate menus to find the videos. Is there anything small, battery powered, and cheap, that when activated, either automatically starts playing the video, or simply presents the reader with a list of videos to choose from?

I'm planning to digitize my family photos foregoing the scanner route and opting for the snap with a digicam route. I've done some tests and am satisfied with the quality, but before I start the assembly line I'm looking for photography tips to make this work nicely as I know little about photograpy.

I need to buy a sub-$350ish point-and-shoot camera in the next week. Any recommendations? I've had a few Canon Digital ELPHs in the past and have been pretty satisfied with them but I know there are other brands out there.

how can I insert multiple photos into a Wordpress blog post? Right now it takes 5-6 clicks per photo, and it's driving me nuts. Note that I do not need a gallery, but rather I need to be able to select multiple images that would be inserted into the blog post one after another, so I could add text to each of them later. Thank you so much!!!!

I've been using Canon PowerShot models for years. My current one is the G10. I think with my experience in amateur photography, I can finally move on to something more advanced. Do you have any suggestions for an entry-level DSLR camera?

I want to set up a little "one picture a day" blog, using something like Tumblr, except I want the time of the post to be taken directly from the "Date Picture Taken" EXIF data. Is there a CMS (or even better, a Tumblr hack) that will allow me to do this?

looking for some html code for a decent presentation for photos-- specifically the kind where you mouse-over a thumbnail and it displays that one large, so you can look at all of them simply by mousing over each one.

There was a photo in the "New Moon" ski catalog (about 10 years ago) of a xc skier, skiing down to a hut in what looked like the Alps, with a large acoustic bass strapped to his back.
If someone knew a source for the photo, it'd mean a lot. (I love the photo in that it combines music, skiing, community...)

Where can I get hold of a high-resolution (300dpi or better), print-quality digital copy of a radiograph (ie., x-ray photo) of
a complete cat's body? I'm looking for something like
this one at Getty Images, although preferably one taken from the side,
like this or
this. I have found several decent detail photos via Flickr and Google Images, but what I'm looking for needs to be a complete image. Getty and other stock photo providers are hideously expensive, and this is for a personal pet project of sorts (no pun intended), and not something I am able to spend hundreds of dollars on.

You have digital pictures that are cropped to various rectangular dimensions, but you want to print each of them on 4"x6" paper without losing any of the image. Of course any that are not a 4x6-ratio image - that's most of them - will need to have some white letterboxing. Can any of the standard consumer on-line photo printing services do this automatically, as a batch request? Just print whatever I upload, but fit each one entirely on 4"x6" paper? Shutterfly and Snapfish customer service (for example) said I'd have to go in and adjust the cropping for each picture individually.

Is there a way to view all the pictures posted on someone's photo blog (not mine) as a slideshow?
The blog I'm thinking of posts pictures regularly and I'd like to be able to paste the RSS feed into a program that will draw out the pictures and allow me to view them as a slideshow. The trick would be to have the all the pictures from every post ever posted be drawn into the slideshow (it might be nice to be able to randomize it as well, rather than have the pictures show in typical reverse chronological order).
I'm really surprised this technology doesn't seem to exist yet.
Thanks, folks.

I just completed a Photo365 project and I'm pretty proud of it. I'd like to create a hard copy of the project to be able to look at and show people, and I'd like to do it fairly inexpensively. I was going to make a photobook, but putting all of those pictures in seems to make the book really expensive.
Any ideas on how to compile all 365 photos physically, both inexpensively
and with style?

My family will be in Manhattan in a few weeks for my mother's 60th birthday. One of the ways we would love to celebrate the occasion is with a family portrait. Unfortunately this is not something I have ever done before, so I don't know how to judge which photographer -- and what price -- is right for us. I'm looking for general advice for hiring a photographer, and personal recommendations of photographers you know in Manhattan.
