Thanks to
this post, I've learned I really love Kodachrome. I also love photos of 40s-60s American cities - the clothes, the ads, the old cars, the whole thing. Where can I find good Kodachrome prints of American cities - preferably ones I can have printed myself and/or reasonably buy?

Some months back I was contacted by a publisher, and they requested permission to put my kitteh's photograph in their book - The Lolcat Bible. Of course I said yes. I received a copy, with my cat on page 116, and I was thrilled...til the book went missing. I recently got a hold of another copy of this book, and my cat? Missing. What the heck? I cannot find any evidence of different versions online. Can you help me find another copy of the one they sent?

Picasa does everything thing I want in a light photo editor (cropping, highlight and shadow correction, roation (90 degree and free)) and browser
except it does not support
multiple computers using the same meta data. My fricken database has been corrupted again (apparently it doesn't handle 200K+ photos very well either) so I'm looking for an alternative that does support syncing between multiple computers and network storage.

photo blog filter: I enjoy the history site
shorpy quite a bit, but I also really like the member gallery (button on left side of main page; not sure why my link here isn't sticking), where contributors post family photos and other sorts of everyday images along with the date of origin and some background info, etc. What other blogs/websites do this kind of thing? Which ones do you like? (Interested in 40s-80s U.S. mostly, but some variation is fine.)

what sort of device can I buy to show my google tasks next to a corkboard, so I see them on my way out the door?
do any photo frames do wireless sync? my first thought was a cheap old itouch, but the screen is tiny, and it does more than I need.
low power use would also be a plus (i.e. not a laptop or cheap desktop with wall mounted monitor, which I also thought of - I do have an extra 17" sitting around)
I could consider switching to another tasks app if required for the best solution, though I do enjoy gtasks in gmail and calendar.

Julia Gillard and it reminded me of a similar photo of John Howard that featured prominently in my local newspaper, "The Queensland Times" for a long while until people began to write to the editor about it. Can you help me find that John Howard photo?

I have a photo that I want to rotate a couple of degrees, but all I have on my computer is Paint which will only do it 90 or 180 degrees. I don't want to download a program because this is my work computer, but I don't want to wait till I get home, as I don't have internet access at the moment. Is there something online similar to Photobucket that will let me upload a photo and then edit it, and that is able to custom rotate images? I've tried googling but can't find anything. Any help greatly appreciated!

iPhone App: I want to upload EVERY photo I take, to Flickr, immediately after being taken. This means that I want the app to upload in the background, REGARDLESS of what I'm doing. I may hit the home button and go on to another app, or I may just throw the phone in my pocket. I want the new spiffy multitasking to work as promised and upload my photos. I want to use this as my main camera app. I use a 3GS, so multitasking does work fine.

My company has posted my photo along with those of other employees on its website. I'm not comfortable with having my picture online, in any context, and would like to ask that it be removed. I'll ask politely, but if my boss insists that it stays, I'd like to know what my rights are. I wasn't asked for permission. I'm in BC, so I guess I'm wondering particularly about BC laws and/or precedents. Please advise, so I know where I stand!

this photo at a yard sale today. The woman who sold it to me had no idea who the people in it are. She said she'd had the photo since 1960. It's clearly a lot older than that. What, if anything, can you tell me about it?
