Is there a term for the type of portrait that contains two angles of the same person's face in the same photo? I'm thinking of this style
(Will Ferrell). Another example here
These were really popular in the 70s and 80s.
I want to get one of the style portraits taken but I don't even know how to describe it, or how to search for it. Does anyone know a name for this style, or even a way to explain it?
Also, have you ever seen it being offered these days, and if so, where?
I have seen these previous Askme's (1
) but they don't really help. Also my google-fu is useless except for that Will Ferrell portrait.

My mom has discovered acting in her retirement, and wants me to shoot a headshot for her. I can shoot a portrait fine (gear and technique), but I have no idea what to do for an actor's headshot. Can someone in the business tell me what you'd want from a headshot for an older woman? [more inside]

My family will be in Manhattan in a few weeks for my mother's 60th birthday. One of the ways we would love to celebrate the occasion is with a family portrait. Unfortunately this is not something I have ever done before, so I don't know how to judge which photographer -- and what price -- is right for us. I'm looking for general advice for hiring a photographer, and personal recommendations of photographers you know in Manhattan. [more inside]

I'm looking for portraits of stereotypical New Yorkers but Getty, Flickr, Picasaweb are all failing me. Where do I find these iconic faces of the Big Apple [more inside]

I just had my son's pictures taken at a national portrait studio that I'd never used before. The back of my receipt says, "[Studio name] reserves the right to use any portrait for advertising, promotions, and display purposes." [more inside]

My two siblings and I want to have a nice photo portrait done as a gift to our grandparents. I'm assuming that mall studios will produce tacky photos but I don't know what to look for in an alternative. I also don't know how to prepare for the portrait. I'm looking to have this done near either Cambridge, MA or Providence, RI. Any suggestions?
