I have some artwork that I want to put on coffee mugs for friends. Though I see a few DIY sites, I am not sure what resin to use to hold up in microwave so would like your recommendations on commercial sites. I may eventually do bulk orders if I decide to sell so if you have any recommendations that would be different for bulk orders, I am game for those suggestions as well. Vistaprint was around $20-25 after all was said and done.
Thanks, and enjoy your weekend.

Are there any free photo editors that can work with higher resolution images (300dpi) and offer some of the effects that Pixlr-o-matic can? They seem to save to web resolution only.

I would like to photograph what it feels like to be hugged (be the huggee). I'm looking for inspiration. Have you ever seen a photo or film shot that captures this feeling? [more inside]

Does anyone know the origins of this image? I am trying to use it for something and would like to contact the original artist:
I've checked TinEye, but no luck, since it's been reblogged many times.

Does anyone know the source of this image of two elderly women drinking with a young man
in the foreground? One of the women is vomiting in the background. The filename is either "saturdaynight" or "grannyparty."
I had assumed it was a relic from someone's photo collection but a friend recently informed me it was part of a larger project and set up.

Thanks to this post
, I've learned I really love Kodachrome. I also love photos of 40s-60s American cities - the clothes, the ads, the old cars, the whole thing. Where can I find good Kodachrome prints of American cities - preferably ones I can have printed myself and/or reasonably buy?

Can you help me find a small, square format digital display that can play video or animated gifs?
I found a bunch of digital photo keyframes that would be perfect but they don't seem to display animated gifs or videos. Any ideas? [more inside]

Looking for a picture/drawing of a bear statue from behind (possibly facing forward) - from what I recall, it looked like a chainsaw-cut carving of a brown or black bear out of a tree. Could be B&W lineart of one and I recall the grooves of the "fur flaps" being very deep but symmetrical - not rough-cut and not rounded. Thinking of using it along with a drawn "cub" of similar look & feel for a tattoo. [more inside]

I'm looking for back story on a somewhat disturbing photograph which was circulating around the internet around 10-15 years ago. Trouble is, I no longer have a copy of the file, and can't find it. [more inside]

A number of years ago I saw a photograph in an art magazine of a work by an artist I'm having trouble remembering. The photograph was of an ethereal and calm beach scene, with an endless blue/green sea and a washed out horizon, and tiny plastic figures placed throughout the water and beach at various positions, so that from our perspective these figures looked human and real. Any idea how I can find this image or artist?

I have an art quality photographic print with a crease through the image (*$#% USPS). Short of seeking professional help, is there any way tried and true way to get it out? I'm very wary of destroying the image, so I'm not going at it with an iron. And strategic matting won't fix the problem. Surely there's something I haven't thought of?

What is the website that one can upload a photograph and convert that image into what looks like a famous painting (Modigliani , van Gogh etc). I recall it used some type of face recognition software algorithms.

Next year I will graduate from college with a double concentration in English and French. As much as I love literature and reading, graduate school in those fields doesn't seem like the right thing for me. However, my love of photography has blown up in the past few years and I'm pretty serious about making a career of it.
Where are the good photography schools? Is there any way to get an MFA with my experience? Otherwise, is a second BA worth the money and hassle? [more inside]
