Is there an online photo sharing site that will let me upload photos into an album, move around photos within the album, and caption the photos so that they show up in a slideshow? [more inside]
I have to process a ton of jpeg images that will be used for a web portfolio of projects. I have been struggling to come up with a way to do this efficiently (as well as not shooting myself in the foot of the images need to be used in a different format down the road). [more inside]
I have an iPhone 6s Plus, which has become pretty much my only camera for the last several months. I actually like it a lot and have been learning to get some photos out of it that I really like. However, I'd like to have more control over the camera settings than I get from the default app. Is there an app that does this well? [more inside]
So I took a bunch of photos on a trip to Japan and the time and date are wrong on all of them because of a mistaken camera setting. Is there a way to change the metadata for the files somehow all at once instead of one at a time?
I use Mega for a catch-all photo backup. This is in addition to backups of select photos that I really want to keep. I found a reason to access that backup finally now after a few years of using it. I have 3000 photos to look through though. Loading the image thumbnails is so slow it would take months to find the photos this way. How can I find the photo I'm looking for? [more inside]
I have scanned copies of 60 documents that I need transcribed. It's 1,318 pages in total, single-space typed, with each page a separate JPG. I usually self-transcribe stuff like this, but this is a bit more than I want to take on. What are my options for getting this done without breaking the bank? [more inside]
I have about 2000 images (100 GB of RAW+JPG) that I shot on my two week vacation. What's the best free or cheap software for reviewing and culling the best shots? My goal is to prune them down to my 100-150 favourite shots. [more inside]
My extended family is a large one and distributed over North America and Western Europe. Up until now we have been using Togethera as a means to share photographs and stay in informal contact. Unfortunately, Togethera have today sent out an email announcing the termination of their service. Is there an obvious alternative social network that can fill this gap?> [more inside]

I'm looking for war-related/wartime images (photographs/graphics/poster/comics...etc except films) from the 20th/21st century that are somehow particularly noteworthy, iconic, unusual, or interesting. [more inside]
I have accumulated - and curated - around 5K photos on Flickr. Quite a few of these are embedded/pulled into various places (blogpost example). In case Flickr does go under, I'm looking for quick/non-teccie solutions for moving the entire bunch of photos and also for easily updating all of those places where a bit of code pulls in the picture from Flickr. [more inside]
I'm looking for unusual ways to display/mount photos that escape the usual bland thin-frame-white-border look. [more inside]

I’ve been taking photos of the same(-ish) spot for the past year in the hopes of stringing them all together to illustrate the changing seasons. Now that I have the photos, I need some tech help to pull the next step off. Snowflakes (not many, I hope) inside. [more inside]
Looking for the most reliable and easy to use automatic photo/video backup solution for iPhone. Contenders include Dropbox, Amazon, Flickr, icloud, Google, and probably others. We take tons of photos of the kidlet, and want to ensure they're backed up somewhere between syncing to the computer. Bonus points for a solution that can easily be imported to iPhoto for wife and Lightroom for me. [more inside]
I have a huge number of negatives from my days using a film camera. I would like to get them converted to digital files. Is there anywhere in the UK, ideally London or mail-order, where I can get this done, and how much is it likely to cost? I would rather pay someone else to do it than, for example, buying myself a photo scanner - although I do have a standard scanner I don't think this can be used to scan negatives in this way.
This photo was taken somewhere in either Italy or France. Most likely the south of France. Possibly the Italian coastline nearby. Many thanks.
I am an amateur photographer, nothing more. All my photos are currently dumped into iPhoto, and I need tips for organizing them in a way that allows easy access. [more inside]
Looking for the latest answer to this ongoing question: what's the best/easiest site/app for people to upload event photos (probably, but not necessarily, taken with their phone)? It would be great if there was an "invite your friends" feature.
I have 2000 photos which I'd like to organize, and have 2 specific requirements - I'd like to: (1) select photos in one album and add them to another, & (2) access a list view of each album - i.e. see the file names of the photos in an album, listed by their order in the album. Currently I have MS Photo and Google Photos - looks like I can only do #1 in Google Photos, and can't do #2 in either. Am I missing something, or is there a suitable alternative - web, Win 8.1 or Win 10?
Is there a non-photo shop option that will let me create a collage where I can resize photos and some other basic tweaks? [more inside]

In the early '90s, in the back of my high school photography textbook, there was a gallery of photos. One was a black&white of two people wearing plaid shirts looking at elephants over a fence in a zoo. The photo was composed so one didn't immediately notice that further down the fence, there were two more people standing with boxes over their heads. Any help identifying this (or even better, finding a print) would be much appreciated.
I'm creating an activity for a class of grad students where we each create a photo during a class session and then somehow share/compile them in a feed. Is there some app or website platform in which people could individually send or post the photo from their smartphone or computer, and they would appear on one page? Preferably without requiring them to log in or create an account. [more inside]
The photo uploader I had used for my site has closed. It resized in three sizes. Now I need a new one. [more inside]
I'd like to get my passport photos taken in Seattle. The complication is that they need to meet dimensions required for a Canadian passport. Camera shops are mostly out of business, and FedEx and UPS offices can only take pictures meeting US passport dimensions (they print out to 2" x 2", and are too small). Per instructions, I am not allowed to take them myself. Do I have any other reliable and inexpensive options available in the Seattle area?
Can anyone recommend an app or cloud-based platform for storing photos and inputting case details? [more inside]

I'm editing and typesetting my grandfather's memoir. I have many (over 100) photos of his I digitized now on my computer, but many are missing captions. What site/tool should I use to go through the photos with him? He's quite tech savvy for someone in his 90s, but he also lives across the country and it's hard for him to hear on the phone.
I have had three flash drives recently, and they keep failing. This is why I am buying more. When I used the newest one tonight (not for the first time) I got a balloon message saying, "Your drive has malfunctioned and is no longer recognized by the computer." (I got that message or similar on the first two.) [more inside]

It appears that when doing a Google search for my name ('Tim Pollard') the result Google features is a weird combination of my details (from Wikipedia) but with an embedded photo of an entirely different Tim Pollard (a motoring journalist). Does anyone know how to change that so my photo appears with my details please? As a performer I want to make sure people know who and what they're getting! Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions!
I have a photo of my grandfather from the 1930s standing in front of the doorway of a building. I'd like to figure out what the building is and have a few hints that may help narrow it down, but I haven't had any luck just yet. [more inside]

It's relatively early days in my acting 'career'. I had a chance to get some headshots done by a 'big-shot' photographer. I paid for them, then his computer blow up and he lost them all. I repeatedly asked for my money back and it took months for him to even reply. He reimbursed me and said he'd give me some complimentary shots. [more inside]

This is one of my favourite photos ever. A worker bowing their head in front of the Super-Kamiokande neutrino detector, in Japan. I recently came across it again after many internet years, but can't find a larger - or the original - version. Any ideas?
My grandpa did an album about his time in the Spanish Civil War, and the liner notes (PDF) utilize five pieces of clip art. I'd like to know where the clip art came from. [more inside]
I don't think there's any way to uninstall the Google Photo bloatware on my unrooted Android phone, which is super-annoying. I've turned off "upload to Google+" but am angsty that one day, after an update or whatever, it might re-default to upload. I don't want Google saving copies of my stuff, and I am not reassured by their help materials, which talk about me "not seeing" the images anymore if I delete them. That's not the same as Google not having them, which is what I'm trying to avoid. Without rooting my phone, is there a way I can delete the app, or stop it from storing my stuff? [more inside]
Today I found out that the service that I've been using for at least a year now is closing down. I was on Flickr for a long time (starting 2006?), but I just don't trust Yahoo either. So I guess that means I should do something self-hosted...what are my options these days? [more inside]
