I have had a reasonably happy relationship with my T-Mobile G2 (aka HTC Desire Z) these past two years, but my contract is up, and I have long coveted the iPhone, mostly based on its picture taking and video chatting capabilities. Should I just get one and take advantage of T-Mobile's new pricing? Or should I jump to a new carrier? An attempt to make this less open-ended is inside.

On my last smartphone, I could push a button, say "Find pizza" and the phone would bring up a map showing all the local pizzerias. Or "Find 300 Commonwealth Avenue" and it would show me a map with my destination and where I was.
Now when I say "Find pizza" my phone instead does an internet search for pizza. If it is a more specific command, often the internet search will lead me to an option to find the selected item using Google Maps instead. But it's still a little annoying that I have to choose things with my finger instead of my voice.

I am relatively new to the smart phone world. But what I already learned is that incredibly many apps are for free. I wonder how that is possible. During the last month I have spent some time myself developing a financial app for Android - my preferred smart phone. The app of course could be useful not only for me but also for others. So I put it into the Google Play Store. Since I made some effort with bringing the thing to life I am not ready to give it away for free but expect getting a reasonable price paid. What I wonder is are people in general expecting apps to be free anyway? Are there other models how to finance the development of smart phone apps?

I have a HTC Wildfire S, which I like a lot and does everything I want except with one big caveat: the inbuilt memory on the phone is pitiful. The inability to move some apps to the SD card is proving to be a pain. I have reached the stage, after only a handful of not-preinstalled apps, of having to constantly uninstall/reinstall apps as I need them.
So, can someone suggest to me another phone that might suit me better?

I'm not looking to use it as a mini computer (i have an iPad for that) but I am interested in how to best use it as a phone and what capabilities or apps are available that don't have an iOS equivalent or work better than their counterparts.
